Nolith

Nolith is a lightweight optimization and utility mod originally created as a custom, in-house tool for a private Minecraft server. Rather than aiming for dramatic, benchmark-focused performance boosts, Nolith is designed to improve overall server stability and provide practical gameplay adjustments through steady, subtle improvements.

Because it was built as a tailored utility for a specific server environment, the mod is actively being developed and will be continuously supplemented with new features, fixes, and optimizations over time.

Current Features

While still expanding, Nolith already includes a variety of targeted tweaks across optimization, gameplay, and interface management:

Optimizations & Stability

• Dynamic Entity Tracking: Adjusts the tracking range of entities based on server conditions and player ping to optimize network load.
• Inventory Trigger Cooldowns: Adds a 10-tick cooldown to inventory change triggers to reduce processing lag from rapid inventory updates.
• Optimized Predicates: Improves the performance of item predicate matching for enchantments, NBT data, and potions.
• Health Validation: Actively monitors and prevents infinite or NaN (Not a Number) health values on living entities to prevent server crashes.
• Resource Pack Caching: Enhances how the client handles and caches server resource packs to prevent redundant downloads.

Gameplay Mechanics

• Configurable Movement Limits: Allows server administrators to safely bypass or adjust vanilla player and vehicle speed limits, reducing "moved wrongly" desyncs.
• Passive Shield Mechanics: Introduces configurable passive damage absorption for shields (categorized into heavy, standard, and small shields).
• Shield Block Delay: Allows configuration of the default shield blocking delay.

Client & Interface

• Customizable HUD: Provides client-side configuration to selectively hide vanilla GUI elements, such as the health bar, armor level, crosshair, boss bars, and more.

Usage

There are no restrictions on using Nolith in other servers or modpacks. You are completely free to include it in your own setups!

Note: Do not expect a dramatic “wow” FPS boost. Nolith is a specialized toolkit aimed at making the game smoother, safer, and more customizable for server administrators and players.
