Nerospace

Mine alien ore, power up your machines, and build rockets to leave the planet behind.

Nerospace is a space-exploration and tech-progression mod. It takes the familiar loop of mining and crafting and points it at the sky: dig up a new ore, refine it with machines you build, forge the parts for a rocket, and launch to a whole new world with resources of its own. Every step forward is a step further from the overworld.

What you'll do

1. Find nerosium. A new ore generates in the overworld in both stone and deepslate variants. Mine it (iron-tier pickaxe or better) for raw nerosium.
2. Refine it. Smelt raw nerosium into ingots, or feed ore and raw material into the Nerosium Grinder — a powered processing machine that grinds ore into dust so you get more ingots per ore.
3. Gear up. Craft the nerosium pickaxe (sits between iron and diamond — higher durability and a faster mining edge) and store your wealth in nerosium and raw-nerosium storage blocks.
4. Travel. Build toward leaving the overworld and reach Greenxertz, a new planet-dimension.
5. Explore Greenxertz. Mine the planet's own resources — nerosteel (smelted from its ore into ingots and storage blocks) and xertz quartz, a gem dropped straight from its ore.
6. Go bigger. Progress through tiered rockets (Tier 1 → 2 → 3), keep your tank topped up with fuel canisters, and set down a launch pad as your departure point.

Features

• New overworld ore: nerosium ore + deepslate nerosium ore, with proper world generation, drops, and tool requirements.
• Full material chain: raw nerosium → ingot, nerosium dust, and storage blocks for compact storage.
• A processing machine: the Nerosium Grinder — a block with its own interface that turns ore into dust over time and runs on stored energy.
• A new tool: the nerosium pickaxe, tuned to sit between iron and diamond.
• A new dimension — Greenxertz: a planet with its own ores, nerosteel and xertz quartz, and matching material chains.
• Rockets & travel: three rocket tiers, a refuelable fuel canister, a launch pad, and an early travel device to reach the planet while you work toward rockets.
• Sensible tagging: ores, ingots, dusts, and storage blocks use the common conventions (c:ores/..., c:ingots/..., and so on) so recipe-lookup mods recognize them out of the box.

Getting started

Look for nerosium while mining at typical ore depths, smelt or grind it into ingots, and craft a nerosium pickaxe. From there, work through the material and machine chain toward your first trip to Greenxertz. Recipes show up in standard recipe-viewer mods.

Compatibility

Nerospace is built standalone for modern Minecraft on the NeoForge loader — it does not require any other mod. It uses conventional item/block tags and NeoForge capabilities (energy), so it's designed to slot cleanly alongside other tech mods as that ecosystem updates, without depending on any of them.

Always match the mod's file to your Minecraft and NeoForge versions (see the Files tab for supported versions).

Roadmap

Nerospace is actively being built out. Planned additions include more planets and rocket tiers, additional machines, custom creatures and atmosphere mechanics on the planets, and deeper progression. Feedback and bug reports are very welcome — they directly shape what comes next.

Note on artwork: the project logo and some starter block/item textures were created with the help of AI image tools. They reflect the mod's real blocks and items but are stylized placeholder art that will be refined over time. In-game screenshots in the gallery show the actual content.
