PasterDreamSpells is an addon mod for NeoPasterDream, responsible for carrying the original "Spell" system.

It is separated from the main mod, compiled with a dependency on PasterDreamAPI, with optional dependencies on PasterDreamSanity and PasterDreamMeltDream. At runtime, PasterDreamAPI is provided by the main mod package, so the main mod is still required as a prerequisite.

The module contains five elemental spell scrolls, corresponding projectile entities, field entities, particles, and sound effects.

Spells are not unlimited magic. They are consumable scrolls (essentially throwable potion bottles), charged by holding down, fired upon release.

🏗️ Architecture: Independent, Yet Resonant

Spell hit effects are centrally managed in SpellEffects, with precise timing implemented via ServerScheduler
Client-side rendering and particle providers are registered in PDSpellsClientSetup
Spell projectiles inherit from AbstractArrow, no damage, no knockback, silent, non-retrievable, trigger corresponding effects on hit
Optional dependency on PasterDreamSanity (low San may affect casting judgment) and PasterDreamMeltDream (spells may consume energy)
