Neon Alley
Everything else a murky cyberpunk street needs.
Neon Alley fills the gaps between your buildings with the grime and clutter of a rain-soaked future city: sagging cables strung between rooftops, humming vending machines, dripping air-con units, hissing steam vents, rusted metal, and walls covered in graffiti and posters.
It's the third mod in the cyberpunk city set, made to go with Neon Signs Unlimited and 1000 Cyberpunk City Signs. It works on its own too.
⚡ Hanging Cables
Hold a spool, right-click where the cable starts, then right-click where it ends (up to 32 blocks away). The cable hangs between the two points with a natural sag.
| Spool | Looks like |
|---|---|
| Power Cable | Thick black cable |
| Data Cable Bundle | Three thin coloured wires twisted together |
| Festoon Lights | Glowing bulbs on a thin wire. Craft with any dye to change the bulb colour |
- Power and data cables end in a plug, so they look properly connected wherever they're fixed.
- Shears on a block take down every cable fixed to it, and you get your spools back.
- Sneak + right-click the air to cancel a cable you've started.
🔌 Power Your Neon Signs (with Neon Signs Unlimited)
With Neon Signs Unlimited installed, Power Cables carry real power to your signs:
- Place a Neon Signs Unlimited powered block out of the way and switch it on with a lever, button or redstone.
- Fix a Cable Bracket to it.
- Run a Power Cable from the bracket and right-click a neon sign with the other end. The cable plugs straight into the edge of the sign, and the sign lights up!
- Run as many cables from the bracket, or from sign to sign, as you like.
Only real redstone can switch a cable chain on, so a street of signs on one lever is easy. Without Neon Signs Unlimited the cables are purely decorative.
🥤 Street Clutter
- Vending Machine: two blocks tall and glowing. Pay an emerald for a Neon Soda (a speed boost) or a pack of Synth Snacks.
- Air-Con Unit: drips water on a wall, or stands on the ground like a rooftop unit.
- Steam Vent: puffs steam with the odd hiss. Set it in the ground to blow straight up, or in a wall to blow sideways. A redstone signal turns it off.
- Rusty, Copper and Black Pipes: join to each other, to steam vents and to air-con units.
- Rubbish Bags, Overflowing Bins and Cardboard Boxes.
🧱 Grime Blocks
- Rusted Metal Panel
- Corrugated Metal and Rusty Corrugated Metal
- Chain-link Fence
- Grimy Concrete in light, grey, dark and teal
🎨 100 Graffiti Designs
Craft a Spray Can, right-click the air to choose a design, then right-click a wall to spray it on.
- Tags, Throw-ups, Stencils and big Pieces, some up to 4 blocks wide.
- A picker screen with categories and search.
- Breaking graffiti scrubs it off.
📰 100 Posters
Craft Posters, choose one, and paste it up on any wall. Breaking a poster gives it back.
- Food & Drink, Nightlife, Tech & Implants, Corporate, Wanted & Notices, Gigs and Propaganda.
- Album posters for AndyMFA's music: Nova: Fugitive Spark, Nova: Body Blow and Echo: Frequency 13, streaming on Spotify!
- Posters up to 3 × 4 blocks.
