About
This project exists because many custom sky resource packs are already available for Nuit Fabric Version(or Higher versions of Neoforge) or OptiFine-style formats, while NeoForge 1.21.1 users currently do not have a simple solution. If the official Nuit project releases an equivalent NeoForge version, this port will be archived.
What This Mod Does
NeoforgeSkyboxes loads custom skybox resource packs on NeoForge 1.21.1. It merges the core Nuit/FabricSkyBoxes behavior with Nuit Interop, so both Nuit/FabricSkyBoxes-style packs and OptiFine/MCPatcher custom sky packs can work through one client-side mod.
During the port, a few small compatibility and rendering bugs were also fixed.
How To Use
Install this mod on the client, then enable a compatible custom sky resource pack.
Tested resource packs include:
- Dramatic Sky(Demo and Beta) by thebaum64
- Hyper Realistic Sky by UsernameGeri
- Fresh Skybox by razvangn
Note: If you are using the Beta version of Dramatic Sky and want Nether skies to display correctly, you may also need to install Celestial.
Shader Notes
BSL Shaders can be fully compatible after changing these settings:
- Environment > Sky: turn off
Sky Desaturation - Environment > Sky: turn off
Shader End Sky - Environment > Sky: turn on
Deferred Sky - Lighting > More Shadow Config: set
Sun Path Rotationto0.0
Other shader packs may work, but need testing. Some shaders render their own sky and may hide custom skyboxes unless their sky options are adjusted.
Support Notice
Issues and compatibility reports are welcome here, especially for resource packs or shader packs that have not been tested yet! Please report problems to this project first, rather than to the official Nuit/FabricSkyBoxes maintainers or resource pack authors, unless you can reproduce the same issue on their officially supported loader setup.
