Nebula Storage 0.1.0
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Nebula Storage 0.1 — First CurseForge Release
First publication on CurseForge. Development status: public alpha.
This cumulative changelog covers the complete content included in Nebula Storage 0.1.0-alpha.7, rather than only the changes between earlier development builds. The CurseForge file is categorized as Release; the mod remains in alpha development, and its internal version is still 0.1.0-alpha.7. Features, recipes and balancing may change.
Platform: Minecraft 1.21.1 · NeoForge 21.1.194 or a later 21.1 version · Java 21.

Added blocks
Network infrastructure
The Controller identifies and powers the network. Servers host its hardware and owned resources. Cables connect compatible sockets; the Terminal exposes network-wide management. The External Interface connects the supported owner or machine directly in front of it and can face any of the six directions.

Internal solar structure block
- Solar structure part —
solar_part: technical block used by solar structures. It has no inventory item or loot table and is not an additional player-obtainable machine.
Added server hardware — 52 items
Servers use motherboards, processors, memory, drives, network interfaces and power supplies. Motherboard slots and allowed hardware generations determine compatible components. Compute, RAM, drive I/O, network bandwidth and supplied power affect production and transfer limits. Power supplies limit available power; they do not generate FE.

Pair cards and handheld devices to the intended network. Effective range depends on the compatible cards at both ends. Wireless access does not keep remote chunks loaded and does not bypass network permissions.
Handheld devices and creative test tool — 3 items
The Portable Terminal provides remote network access. The Creature Tablet provides capture/release modes and an archive gallery. The Debug Stick is Creative-only: it previews one machine animation cycle without producing resources or consuming crafting energy.

Added storage and network functionality
- Search by text, mod filter (
@mod) and item tag (#tag), with combinable resource-type filters. - Browse stored items, fluids, supported third-party resources and archived creatures in the compact storage view.
- Deposit and withdraw using familiar Minecraft clicks, right-click quantities, shift-click and dragging.
- Preserve exact item/component identity; distinct stored states are not merged merely because their base item ID matches.
- Track item and fluid capacities independently, with full quantities and units in tooltips.
- Expose supported external storage without making a second copy of its resources. Multiple ports do not multiply the same owner's contents.
- Configure Importer and Exporter ghost filters without consuming the displayed filter item. Importers accept everything when no filter is set; Exporters send nothing without a filter.
- Control transfer ports manually or with redstone: ignore redstone, active high, active low or toggle on rising edge.
- Connect transfer ports on their free sides, including adjacent compatible ports.
- Name networks through their Controller, with duplicate-name checks.
- Prevent accidentally joining two independently controlled networks. Removing a Controller does not transfer ownership into a duplicate storage copy.
- Suspend access when the Controller or required network parts are unloaded instead of forcing chunk loading.
Added autocrafting and production management
- Discover supported recipes from installed or connected equipment, without encoded recipe patterns or a channel-allocation system.
- Support installed vanilla crafting tables, furnaces, blast furnaces, smokers, stonecutters, smithing tables, campfires and brewing stands, subject to their supported recipe rules.
- Connect supported physical furnaces, blast furnaces and smokers through the External Interface, keeping their real local fuel and output behaviour.
- Require a real installed or connected crafting table for crafting-table recipes; no implicit free crafting table is provided.
- Request additional quantities or calculate an available maximum within the planner's displayed limits.
- Preview production in a five-column grid showing output icons, names and quantities, including intermediate outputs and coproducts.
- Aggregate identical produced resource identities; show the requested product first. Ingredients already in storage are not presented as newly produced outputs.
- Scroll longer plans and inspect exact quantities in tooltips. Confirmation waits for the complete transmitted plan.
- Reserve resources and validate requests on the server. Stock changes can invalidate an earlier preview and require a fresh confirmation.
- Coordinate jobs using the network's actual compute, memory, drive throughput, bandwidth, equipment and energy.
- Display job progress, state, priorities and process information, with controlled cancellation and diagnostics.
- Show each native industrial machine's state, installed module and available recipes.
- Provide configurable native industrial recipes and observe supported recipe reloads rather than relying only on fixed example recipes.
Added monitoring and rich information panels
- Assemble compatible panels into complete rectangular walls up to 6 × 6; incomplete arrangements remain separate displays.
- Place, move and resize monitoring widgets for energy, compute, memory, storage, transfer activity, machines, jobs and diagnostics.
- Display resource counts, gauges and graphs. Graph updates use received live data; they are not a permanent offline history.
- Edit Information Panel documents with bold, italic, underline, text colour, font size, alignment and undo/redo.
- Insert item illustrations and live resource counts from the inventory/network library; optional JEI ghost ingredients remain an external integration.
- Use live text tokens:
%network%,%time%,%minecraft_time%,%energy%and%jobs%. - Configure item captions, counters and illustration size. These references do not consume, generate or own the displayed items.
- Preserve panel documents across supported wall merges, splits, root changes and reloads, with server checks for permissions and concurrent edits.
Added creature capture and storage
- Capture and restore supported serializable living mobs while retaining each individual's identity and saved state.
- Preserve supported equipment, inventory, health, age, names, tame ownership and other native saved data instead of substituting generic spawn eggs.
- Browse creatures through the Terminal filter and the Creature Tablet gallery, with actual creature previews and quantities.
- Offer Similar, Exact and Individuals display grouping. Grouping changes presentation; it does not combine or discard individual records.
- Configure grouping criteria for appearance, equipment, names/owners, health, effects, attributes and other saved data.
- Configure Collector range from 1 to 8 blocks, with an independent area display and activation switch.
- Apply network permissions and wireless reach to handheld capture and release.
- Provide the
nexus_storage:creature_capture_excludedtag for pack-defined exclusions. - Reject unsupported cases such as players, decorations, bosses, multipart entities, riders/passengers, leashed mobs, active raids and certain externally linked or summoned creatures.
- Keep unknown archived species when a required mod is missing rather than silently replacing them.
Creature storage has finite technical limits. Support for native serialization does not certify every third-party mob or a mod's external world-state system.
Added optional content-mod integrations
These are version-validated adapters, not a promise to support every version or recipe. In this build, an adapter is enabled only for the exact dependency version listed below; a different version disables that adapter rather than preventing the whole modpack from starting. Native machine power, fluids, chemicals, pressure, catalysts and other prerequisites still apply where required.
| Optional mod | Adapter version gate | Included integration scope |
|---|---|---|
| Mekanism | 10.7.19 |
Supported machines/factories and recipe adapters; supported item, fluid, chemical and heat storage/container owners; local upgrades and native prerequisites |
| Industrial Foregoing | 1.21-3.6.39 |
Dissolution Chamber, Latex Processing Unit and Resourceful Furnace |
| Ender IO | 8.2.12-beta |
Alloy Smelter and SAG Mill |
| Hostile Neural Networks | 6.5.1 |
Loot Fabricator |
| Modern Industrialization | 2.5.8 |
Supported electric/steam machine families for assembly, centrifuging, chemical reaction, compression, cutting, distillation, electrolysis, furnaces, maceration, mixing, packing, polarization, wire milling and unpacking |
| Mystical Agriculture | 8.0.28 |
Seed Reprocessor and supported Essence Furnace |
| Ars Nouveau | 5.13.1 |
Imbuement Chamber and explicit rules for supported creature capture |
| Productive Bees | 1.21.1-13.13.5 |
Bottler |
| PneumaticCraft: Repressurized | 8.2.23 |
Thermopneumatic Processing Plant |
The Mekanism gate is the exact value read from the installed mod's version metadata. A filename or marketing version containing a different suffix is not, by itself, evidence that its adapter is enabled.
Supported Mekanism process families include crushing, enriching, smelting, oxidizing, chemical infusing, rotary conversion, compressing, combining, purifying, injecting, metallurgic infusing, sawing, separating, washing, crystallizing, dissolution, pressurized reaction, centrifuging, pigment extraction/mixing, painting, nucleosynthesis and liquifying. Recipe admission, resource components, owner type and machine configuration can further restrict what is usable.
Added interface, guides and accessibility features
- Provide dedicated storage, crafting, machines, jobs, servers, network, monitoring, technology and settings views.
- Add persistent personal settings for animations, control sounds, remembered searches, optional overlay search synchronization and supported container-crafting options.
- Offer Nebula-only interface scaling without changing Minecraft's global GUI scale, plus selectable Nebula/Minecraft fonts and SVG/pixel icon styles.
- Group settings into General, Creatures and Security.
- Support keyboard focus navigation, activation shortcuts, list scrolling, widget movement, search focus and narrated quantities.
- Add contextual tooltips, full unit/quantity details, clear unavailable-state explanations and server-backed diagnostics.
- Add Ponder guides for network setup, hardware, transfer devices, manufacturing, materials and energy.
- Add a separate demonstration world preset with powered exhibits and explanatory panels. It initializes a new demo world and does not rebuild existing player worlds.
- Add optional JEI and EMI recipe/category integration and compatible search/ghost-ingredient interactions.
- Localize content and interfaces in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Japanese.
Added multiplayer access and persistence protections
- Assign ownership to the player placing a new Controller.
- Provide Operator, Contributor and Observer roles, with owner-only membership management.
- Recheck permissions on the server, including already-open menus after role changes or revocation. A paired card does not grant permission by itself.
- Validate menu sessions, distances, request revisions and stale crafting previews.
- Persist owned resources, drives, server state, jobs and creature archives through supported save/reload and transport operations.
- Journal supported transfers and recover from recorded state rather than guessing or issuing a second resource copy.
- Quarantine inconsistent or unsupported saved state for diagnosis instead of silently replacing it.
- Add administrative diagnostics and recovery commands under
/nebulaand access-management commands under/nebulaaccess; retain/nexusand/nexusaccessaliases. - Include diagnostics for jobs, transfers, detached cores, energy owners, production hosts, servers, drives, wireless references and orphaned owners, with permission-checked recovery operations.
Added pack-author and extension support
- Expose the public extension API under
dev.nebulastorage, including resource types, hardware, recipe sources, production capabilities, machine/storage adapters and observers. - Load external extensions through the extension registration mechanism and check supported API versions where declared.
- Reject duplicate or ambiguous registrations and unsupported resource/process offers.
- Allow server configuration of hardware compute, memory, bandwidth, operating-energy and supply scaling, planner bounds, preview budgets, physical-transfer quotas, cooking-energy settings and recipe caching.
- Supply data-driven recipes, recipe tags, ore generation and creature exclusions for pack customization.
Packaging and changes included in this first publication
- Adopt the Nebula Storage name,
dev.nebulastoragepackages and Nebula class names. - Use the supplied N S logo as the mod icon and in supported interface headers.
- Retain existing
nexus_storageresource IDs and compatible saved identities through the rename. Existing extensions must be recompiled against the renamed API packages. - Remove Nebula's KotlinForForge language-provider requirement. Bundle the official Kotlin standard library instead; packs may retain KotlinForForge for their other mods.
- Use a compatible existing Ponder installation when present, otherwise provide the bundled official fallback. Include required guide/rendering libraries and their license notices.
- Replace the former craft graph and simplified/detail alternatives with the approved five-column output grid.
- Restore five Japanese labels previously affected by character encoding.
- Include refined resource filters, server hardware handling, transfer-port connections, solar selection and panel editing from the accumulated development builds.
- Include fixes for monitoring/panel rendering-cache growth and bounded reuse of render resources.
- Isolate competing maximum-craft GameTest fixtures so they no longer contend in the same tick; preserve the production request budget and its next-tick reset checks.
Validation scope
The publication build passed the automated build, API, unit, asset, geometry and packaging checks, plus five GameTest profiles with 414 tests per profile. Validation also covered native crafting-grid interactions and two hidden clients connected to a dedicated multiplayer server, including concurrent storage/crafting, permissions and restart persistence.
Menu startup was checked in copied instances of ATM10 4.5, Craftoria 1.37.0, FTB Direwolf20 1.22.0 and FTB Evolution 1.44.0, with their existing dependencies retained. These startup checks do not certify every recipe, installed adapter, pack configuration or long-running multiplayer scenario.
Native tests used the Windows build. The published Linux-built archive was separately verified to contain equivalent game/runtime content; the two archive files are not byte-identical. This release remains a public alpha and is not claimed to be free of all bugs.
Installation and upgrading
- Use Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.194 or a later 21.1 version, and Java 21.
- Back up the entire stopped world, including player data and Nebula persistence files, before installation or updates.
- Install the Nebula Storage JAR in
mods; remove an older Nexus Storage or Nebula Storage JAR instead of loading both. - Install the same Nebula Storage version on the dedicated server and every client.
- If migrating from much older development builds with retired storage/energy/production blocks, the former Inlet or fixed monitor, follow the upgrade documentation before loading the world. Preserving current IDs does not make every retired block compatible.
No separate KotlinForForge, Ponder or Flywheel installation is needed for the standalone supported setup. Compatible libraries already supplied by a pack are handled through the supported loading path. Other Minecraft versions, Fabric and Forge are not supported by this file.
Complete built-in recipe catalogue — 103 recipes
The lists below are extracted from the published archive's default recipe data. Pack datapacks may change them. Ingredient lists for shaped crafting summarize required quantities; they do not reproduce the crafting-grid layout. JEI/EMI or the recipe data supplies that layout. Tag ingredients are shown as #namespace:tag.
