# Version log

Natyheim: Forgotten Past. Five game versions, three loaders, one mod. Download the jar that
matches your game — they are all the same mod, and the feature list does not change between
them.

## 1.0.0

The first release. Everything the mod does is in it.

### What is in it

| | |
|---|---|
| Structures | 87 |
| Items | 228 |
| Blocks | 97 |
| Mobs | 22, including 7 culture masters and the Archivist |
| Bosses | the Echo Sovereign, plus 8 mini-bosses |
| Codex pages | 79 |
| Quests | 60, in six acts |
| Recipes | 212 |
| Inscriptions | 28, in seven scripts |
| Languages | English and Turkish, both complete |

**Excavation.** Seven kinds of dig site — five in the overworld, one in the Nether, one out
past the End islands. Fragile finds that break if you rush them, a sieve, and a core auger
that samples the ground without opening it. Every find comes out stamped with the building it
was in, the layer, and how deep — and never with a coordinate.

**Deduction.** The evidence board takes three finds and asks two different questions from the
same three slots: what they prove, and what order they happened in. A wrong sequence is
published under your name until you go back and correct it.

**Reading.** Seven scripts, four inscriptions each, and you cannot read a word of any of them
to begin with. A bilingual tablet from the bottom of a people's own ruins opens their writing
everywhere. Read all four of their texts and their walls start pointing at their own
buildings.

**The museum.** Display cases, relic pedestals, plaques, exhibit contracts, replicas and
forgeries. A forgery gives itself away by having no field record, not by a hidden dice roll.

**Standing.** Patronage, six callings, expertise that never stops climbing, repatriation, and
a season's commission that closes when the season does.

**Natyheim and the Sovereign.** Waygate rituals, a drifting-island dimension, three tiers of
arena per culture, the Gate, and a boss with a phase for each civilisation. The ground keeps
moving after it dies.

**The book.** Prove all seven sequences and the convergence and the board writes you a real
written book, signed and dated, that copies at a lectern and reads for somebody who does not
have the mod installed.

**Building blocks.** Seven masonry sets, craftable from vanilla materials from the start.

### Fixed in this build

- **Display cases threw their own exhibits into the sky.** Anything you put under the glass
drifted up out of the case and kept going. Fixed. Museums that already lost their pieces
put them back on their own the next time the world loads — you do not need to rebuild
  anything.

## Which jar you want

| Game | Java | Fabric | NeoForge |
|---|---|---|---|
| 26.2 | 25 | Loader 0.19.3+, API 0.155.2 | 26.2.0.35-beta |
| 26.1.2 | 25 | Loader 0.19.3+, API 0.155.2 | 26.1.2.84 |
| 26.1.1 | 25 | Loader 0.19.3+, API 0.155.2 | 26.1.1.15-beta |
| 1.21.1 | 21 | Loader 0.16.9+, API 0.116.14 | 21.1.244 |
| 1.20.1 | 17 | Loader 0.14.25+, API 0.92.11 | Forge 47.4.5 |

**One file.** Nothing to install beyond the loader and, on Fabric, Fabric API.

Three things that look like mistakes and are not:

- **Fabric API has no 26.1.1 build of its own.** `0.155.2+26.1.2` lists 26.1.1 among the
versions it supports, so that is the one the 26.1.1 jar asks for.
- **NeoForge never left beta on 26.1.1 or 26.2.** The betas are what exist. The jars say so
rather than pointing at a build that will not run.
- **On 1.20.1 the Forge jar is also the NeoForge jar.** Forge and NeoForge were still one
project at 1.20.1, so `natyheim-forge-1.20.1` is the file a NeoForge player on that version
wants. There is no separate download because there would be nothing different in it.

## What differs between versions

26.x is the version this was made on and has nothing missing. The two older ones lose a few
presentational things the older game has nowhere to put, and they are listed rather than
hidden.

### 26.1.1 · 26.1.2 · 26.2

Nothing missing.

### 1.21.1

- **Natyheim's sky uses the overworld's colours.** The older game picks skies from a fixed
list and will not take a new one.
- **A few vanilla plants that came out after 1.21.1 are absent** from the places that scatter
them: pale garden, firefly bushes, wildflowers.

Everything the mod itself does works.

### 1.20.1

The oldest version supported and the least polished of the five.

- **The two music discs do not play.**
- **Four bosses are ordinary size** instead of being scaled up.
- **Three sounds are the nearest vanilla equivalent** rather than the intended one.
- **This is the newest port and the least tested.** If something is going to be wrong
somewhere, it will be here first.
