Naturalist x Farmer's Delight Compat
Why I Made This Mod
Honestly, this is my first Minecraft mod and I have pretty much no idea what I'm doing.
I just got annoyed by how many items Naturalist adds that barely have any use.
So I decided to do something about it.
What started as a few simple Cutting Board recipes somehow turned into a whole compatibility mod.
The idea is pretty simple: Make Naturalist's items actually useful, mostly through Farmer's Delight, without adding a bunch of new stuff.
That's pretty much it.
What Does This Mod Do?
Brings Naturalist and Farmer’s Delight together with additional Cutting Board recipes, expanded ingredient compatibility, new animal feeding options, and more uses for animal drops. Includes optional Rustic Delight integration.
Cutting Board Recipes
The following recipes require a Knife:
| Input | Output | Additional Drops |
|---|---|---|
| Bass | 2 Cod Slices | 1 Bone Meal |
| Anglerfish | 2 Cod Slices | 1 Bone Meal, 50% chance of 1 Glow Ink Sac, 20% chance of 1 Glowstone Dust |
| Blobfish | 1 Cod Slice | 50% chance of 1 Slime Ball |
| Catfish | 3 Salmon Slices | 1 Bone Meal |
| Piranha | 1 Salmon Slice | 1 Bone Meal and 1 Tooth |
| Duck | 2 Chicken Cuts | 1 Bone Meal |
| Drumstick | 4 Chicken Cuts | 1 Bone |

Matching recipes for cooked ingredients and cooked outputs are included for Bass, Anglerfish, Blobfish, Catfish, Piranha, Duck, Drumstick, and Venison. Additional drops remain the same.
The following Cutting Board recipes require a Pickaxe:
| Input | Output |
|---|---|
| Antler | 1 Bone + 2 Bone Meal |
| Snail Shell | 1 Bone Meal |
| Tooth | 2 Bone Meal |
Expanded Ingredient Compatibility
Naturalist ingredients can be used in recipes that accept the corresponding ingredient tags:
| Ingredient Category | Added Ingredients |
|---|---|
| Raw Beef | Bushmeat, Venison, Mammoth Meat |
| Cooked Beef | Cooked Bushmeat, Cooked Venison, Cooked Mammoth Meat |
| Raw Mutton | Bushmeat, Venison |
| Cooked Mutton | Cooked Bushmeat, Cooked Venison |
| Raw Chicken | Duck, Drumstick, Lizard Tail |
| Cooked Chicken | Cooked Duck, Cooked Drumstick, Cooked Lizard Tail |
| Raw Cod | Bass |
| Cooked Salmon | Cooked Catfish |
| Safe Raw Fish | Bass, Catfish, Anglerfish, Clam Meat, Crab Meat |
| Eggs | Duck Egg, Ostrich Egg, Alligator Egg, Tortoise Egg |
| Cooked Egg | Naturalist Cooked Egg |
This allows ingredients such as Bass in Baked Cod Stew and Cooked Catfish in Grilled Salmon.
Naturalist’s Cooked Egg recipes for the Furnace, Smoker, and Campfire are disabled to avoid competing with Farmer’s Delight’s Fried Egg recipes. Existing Naturalist Cooked Eggs remain usable in recipes accepting the Cooked Egg tag.
Additional Animal Feeding Options

What's Next?
No idea yet.
I'll probably keep adding stuff whenever I find another Naturalist item that annoys me because it has no real use.
If you find something that doesn't work or have an idea for another recipe, feel free to leave a comment.
Just keep in mind that this is my first mod, so I'm still figuring things out.
Anyway, have fun!
