If the account exists, the official capitalization is applied automatically:Steve
If the account does not exist, your entered capitalization is kept and your original skin and cape remain active.

FAQ
Can other players see my hidden name?
No. NameHider only changes what you see locally. Other players continue to see your real username.
Does it work on multiplayer servers?
Yes. NameHider is completely client-side and requires no server installation.
Does it work in singleplayer?
Yes. It works in singleplayer, LAN, and multiplayer.
Does it rename my Minecraft account?
No. Your account name, UUID, and authentication remain unchanged.
Can I use another player's skin?
Yes, locally. If the selected name belongs to an existing Java Edition account, its current skin and cape can be displayed on your client.
Why isn't every occurrence of a name replaced?
Minecraft servers can send arbitrary formatted text through chat, scoreboards, plugins, and custom GUIs.
NameHider only changes safe local display locations where your own player can be reliably identified. This prevents unrelated text or other players' names from being accidentally changed.
NameHider changes what you see — not who you are.
