Naam Tag

Naam Tag is a lightweight, 100% client-side Fabric mod that revamps player and mob nametags with real-time stats, overhead health, equipped armor durability, totem tracking, and animated TrueColor gradient nicknames.

Features

Player Nametag HUD

  • Overhead Health: Displays vanilla heart sprites, numeric HP, or both. Full support for absorption and extra heart rows (Lifesteal SMP).
  • Armor Durability: Shows equipped armor pieces with color-coded durability percentages, with an option to only display damaged pieces.
  • Totem Counter & Ping: Real-time totem count (equipped and inventory) and latency display.
  • Third-Person View (F5): Option to display your own overhead nametag HUD in third-person view.

Mob & Boss Health HUD

  • Real-time overhead health display for hostile mobs, passive animals, and bosses (Wither, Warden, Ender Dragon, Elder Guardian).
  • Customizable display modes (Hearts, Numeric, or Both).
  • Filtering options including category toggles (Hostile, Passive, Bosses) as well as custom entity whitelist and blacklist settings.

Custom Nicknames, Tags & Cross-Server Persistence

  • Assign custom nicknames and rank/prefix badges to any player.
  • Cross-Server Synchronization: Nicknames and tags persist across all servers by default, or you can toggle server-specific profiles in the settings.
  • Supports standard Minecraft color and format codes (&0&f, &l, &o, etc.).
  • Supports 24-bit TrueColor Hex codes (&#RRGGBB) and multi-stop linear gradients (&#FF007F>#7F00FF).
  • Supports animated text effects: &#wave, &#float, &#shake, &#pulse, &#flicker, &#glow, and &#chroma.

Configuration, Profiles & Custom Layouts

  • In-Game Settings GUI: Open the live configuration menu using /nametag gui or via Mod Menu.
  • Live Preview: See your nametag changes in real time inside the settings screen.
  • Layout Presets: Choose between Vanilla, Compact, Minimal, or Custom presets.
  • Fine-Tuning Controls: Adjust HUD scaling, vertical spacing, animation speeds, text shadows, and independent X/Y section position offsets.
  • Profile Presets: Save, load, and switch between different configuration profiles on the fly.

Commands

Both /naamtag and /nametag are supported:

  • /nametag gui - Opens the live settings GUI.
  • /nametag set <player> <nickname> - Sets a player's custom nickname.
  • /nametag tag <player> <tag> - Sets a rank or prefix badge.
  • /nametag untag <player> - Removes a player's rank/tag.
  • /nametag clear <player> - Removes a player's custom nickname.
  • /nametag list - Lists all saved player profiles.
  • /nametag toggle <nickname|health|armor|totem|ping|visibility|mod> - Toggles individual HUD components.
  • /nametag config <save|load|delete|list> <name> - Manages configuration presets.
  • /nametag reload - Reloads configuration files and profiles.

Compatibility

  • 100% Client-Side: No server installation required.
  • Fully compatible with Sodium, Iris, and Mod Menu.

Note: This mod might not work properly on servers that force custom server resource packs (which replace vanilla font or HUD glyphs), but you can customize or adjust the layout, offsets, and display elements in your own way through the settings menu to fit your needs.
