Mystical Terrain
1,603 new biomes for every dimension, a whole new kind of forest, and room to explore them. Mystical Terrain fills the overworld with vanilla-style variants and fantasy realms, replaces vanilla's trees with 405 kinds of giant tree, gives the End twelve biomes of its own, and adds six to the Nether. Biomes and landmasses are four times as wide as vanilla's, and the world reaches 67 million blocks from the centre instead of 30 million. The realms are dressed in 200 new blocks of their own, and the biomes go in through TerraBlender, so it works next to Biomes O' Plenty, Oh The Biomes We've Gone and other TerraBlender biome mods.
The End
The outer End islands finally have somewhere to go. Every End biome has its own ground, its own features and at least one structure, and they cover roughly three fifths of the outer islands. The main island and the dragon fight are untouched, and End cities still generate.
- Amethyst Spires: clusters of giant purple crystal spires up to 120 blocks tall, fallen shards, and Crystal Sanctums with a floating crystal over a treasure chest.
- Chorus Wilds: dense chorus, towering Chorus Titans and Chorus Parasols, and ruined purpur towers.
- Weeping Peaks: blackstone and obsidian, crying obsidian spires, falling tears, and Obsidian Circles of monoliths around an altar.
- Starfall Craters: meteor craters up to 50 blocks across, the meteorite still in the bottom with iron in it.
- Pearlbloom Glades: pale moss under pink-leaved trees hung with moss and glowing froglights.
- Frostvoid Expanse: snow and ice, ice spikes, trees of ice and glacier crystals up to 90 blocks tall.
- Void Reef: warped nylium and branching prismarine reefs tipped with sea lanterns.
- Echoing Hollows: deepslate and sculk, and Echo Gates with a soul lantern under the keystone.
- Shattered Rim: broken crystals, toppled purpur columns and ruins along the island edges.
- Leviathan Barrens: the skeletons of void leviathans, the biggest over 60 blocks long.
- Nebula Drift: little glowing stars and floating crystals hanging in the void, and great Nebula Hearts.
- Geode Archipelago: floating islands with glowing drips, sky isles, and floating amethyst geodes cracked open.
The Nether
- Emberwood Forest: gnarled crimson trees with magma veins, shroomlights and weeping vines.
- Soulwood Thicket: weeping warped-canopied trees over soul soil and soul fire.
- Quartz Caverns: quartz crystal clusters below and quartz stalactites above, with extra quartz and glowstone.
- Gilded Ruins: blackstone halls and Piglin Shrines with bastion loot, and extra gold.
- Bone Wastes: fossils, withered bone trees and the skeletons of nether leviathans.
- Magma Rifts: basalt and magma, craters and magma spires.
Fortresses, bastions and ruined portals still generate in the new Nether biomes.
The overworld
- 759 vanilla-style variants (the Heartland): mossy, rocky, snowy, autumn, flowering, birch, spruce, cherry and many more twists on every vanilla biome, ocean and cave. They mix in with the vanilla biomes so the world still feels like Minecraft, just with more to find.
- 264 fantasy biomes in 12 realms: Mystical, Autumn, Frost, Ember, Fae, Primeval, Twilight, Tropical, Mire, Dune, Fungal and Arcane. Each realm is a region of its own with around 20 biomes and two cave biomes, from maple forests and glaciers to lava fields, coral lagoons and mushroom jungles.
- 12 seas and caves modelled on real places, scattered through the Heartland: a glass-sponge reef, a whale fall on the abyssal ooze, seamount pinnacles, a drowned forest, a bay of glowing sea pickles and a polar shelf strewn with dropstones; and limestone caverns, glowworm grottos, lava tubes, a bat roost, ironstone caverns and caverns full of waterfalls.
- Undergrowth everywhere: leafy bushes, mossy fallen logs, leaf litter, berry shrubs, ferns, mushrooms and fireflies fill in the ground between the trees in every land biome, vanilla's included.
Grand trees
Vanilla trees don't generate in vanilla biomes or in the mod's biomes any more. Every forest is grown from the mod's own trees instead:
- 316 grown species, each with its own genes for how its crown splits, how its trunk bends and forks, and how its branches reach or droop. The branches are grown toward the shape of the crown rather than drawn from a template, so they fill it in three dimensions and no two trees come out alike.
- Canopy trees: one enormous dome of leaves on a thick trunk, hollow underneath and dripping at the rim.
- Layered trees: snaking trunks and long, crooked limbs carrying flat layers of foliage, like ancient pines and giant bonsai.
- Palms: 12 kinds, on sand beside water.
- Forest trees 30 to 50 blocks tall grow 1 to 2 to a chunk in forests, jungles, taigas and swamps, grand trees up to 80 tall rise over them, and 27 colossi up to 165 tall and 140 across stand about every 300 blocks.
- 89 older giants and world trees still grow alongside them, from 120-block redwoods to world trees 240 blocks tall.
Saplings still grow normal trees, so wood farms keep working, and other mods' biomes keep their own trees. The End and Nether add seven trees of their own.
New blocks
200 of them, in their own creative tab and in vanilla's Building Blocks and Natural Blocks tabs, with 32x realistic textures made to sit next to packs like Patrix, and labPBR normal and specular maps so shaders give them depth (and make embers, runes, stars and glowcaps glow). Playing with a 16x pack? Press F7 (or turn on the built-in "Mystical Terrain 16x" resource pack) to switch every block, door, leaf and creative-tab icon to 16x textures, and press it again to go back.
- 12 wood sets, one per realm: Mystwood, Maple, Rimewood, Charwood, Silverbark, Ginkgo, Gloamwood, Palm, Cypress, Olive, Sporewood and Starbark. Each has logs, wood, stripped versions, planks, stairs, slabs, fences, fence gates, doors and trapdoors.
- 15 leaves and 2 mushroom caps, from red and golden maple to wisteria, palm fronds, glowing ember leaves and glowcaps.
- 10 stones with bricks: runestone, russet granite, rimestone, ashstone, moonstone, fossil stone, gloomstone, mirestone, sandrock and starstone.
- 9 soils like leaf mold, permafrost, fae moss and peat, which plants and trees grow on.
- 22 plants: 11 flowers that craft into dyes, and ferns, grasses, cattails and mushrooms.
Each realm's trees are grown from its own wood and leaves, and its flowers, plants, boulders, soil and caves use its own blocks, so 486 biomes feature them.
A bigger world
- Four times as wide. Biomes, continents, oceans and plains use vanilla's Large Biomes scale, and the mod's regions grow to match, so a maple forest or a glacier goes on long enough to feel like a place. Rivers and mountain ridges keep vanilla's spacing, and the Nether's biomes grow too.
- 134 million blocks across. Vanilla's world ends 30 million blocks out; this one ends at 67 million, with the world border set to match. Getting there means storing block positions differently, which comes with a few rules:
- It has to be installed on the server and every player's game. Mismatched players are turned away with a message, and with the mod installed you can only join servers that run it too.
- Dimensions are limited to y -496 to 495. Vanilla's fit easily, but datapacks or mods that make taller worlds won't load.
- Mods that handle block positions in their own way (some performance, lighting, rendering and LOD mods) may not work with it. It's only been tested with Fabric API and TerraBlender.

Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.11 with Fabric Loader
- Fabric API
- TerraBlender
Install it on the server and on every player's game, and start a new world: chunks generated before won't line up with the wider biomes and landmasses. Old worlds still at vanilla's default border are moved up to the new size when they load.
Compatibility
Mystical Terrain adds its biomes through TerraBlender regions, so it plays nicely with other TerraBlender biome mods, and theirs grow four times as wide along with it. It does change vanilla's terrain scale and world size (see A bigger world), so it isn't a drop-in for an existing world or a vanilla server. The End biomes are handed out by vanilla's End biome source, so they also appear alongside End terrain mods that only reshape the islands.
