Myrlin's Tinkers' Construct

Tinkers' Construct for Minecraft 26.1.2 on NeoForge: tool building, the smeltery, modifiers and the books. An unofficial fork of Continuum Construct, checked against official Tinkers' Construct 3.12.1 and fixed to play like it.

What's new

Tinkers' Construct 3 for Minecraft 26.1.2 on NeoForge. This is an unofficial, temporary fork of justduck25's Continuum Construct. It is not affiliated with SlimeKnights or justduck25. When official Tinkers' Construct supports the Minecraft version you play, switch to it.

Install: NeoForge 26.1.2.109 or later, plus stock Continuum Core 1.12.1 (below 1.13). JEI or REI is optional. Put MyrlinsTinkersConstruct-26.1.2-3.12.4-myrlin.4.jar in the mods folder of the server and every client, replacing the old jar. It replaces Continuum Construct too (same mod id tconstruct, so never install both). Back up your world first.

New in myrlin.4

  • Fixes filled buckets of glowing molten metals, including manyullyn and rose gold, looking empty in first person with Iris shaders on. Their contents already appeared normally with shaders off and in the inventory.
  • The fix is active only in first person while Iris reports an active shader pack. Clients without Iris, shader-disabled hands and inventory icons keep the native rendering path. Iris remains optional.

This update adds no Myrlinite content. It contains the public myrlin.3 release plus the filled-bucket shader fix.

Already in myrlin.3

  • Restores 663 missing textures, including fluid camera overlays, modifier overlays, worn armor layers, material and wool sprites, and travelers shield banners. The remaining missing texture belongs to ambidextrous, a modifier this port does not have.
  • Restores translated books and missing language text, corrects swapped red and blue material colors, and fixes the empty leggings layer warning. All 119 shared material render-info colors match official 3.12.1.

The restored art and book files are copied from the MIT-licensed original Tinkers' Construct 3.12.1 by SlimeKnights. They were not made by Myrlin Forge. The earlier REI and JEI fixes, queen's slime block fix, balance changes and book fixes remain included.

Checked with: 138 automated tests (133 passed, 5 client-only tests skipped, none failed), all 153 server test cases passing, a 3,417-entry registry dump identical to myrlin.3 and myrlin.2, and fresh asset audits with only the unused ambidextrous texture absent. All 152 actions in the client armor smoke check passed, with no Tinkers errors or missing-resource warnings.

The four bucket checks passed on head2 with Iris 1.11.4 and Complementary Reimagined r5.9.3, including a separate launch with Iris physically removed:

  • Iris absent: filled buckets render normally in the hand and inventory, with no optional-class crash.
  • Iris installed, shaders off: filled hands keep their normal bright appearance.
  • Shaders on: manyullyn and rose-gold contents are visible in first person.
  • Shaders on: inventory icons remain filled.

The three bucket runs completed 105 actions and captured 15 screenshots. Earth slime remained visible as the non-glowing fluid control.

Known issues: Iris can still report an unsupported unlit render pass when rendering shadows. The fix covers the first-person bucket view; it does not establish full third-person or shadow compatibility. Lighting in the shader-enabled hand view can differ from the native view. The five travelers armor and shield recipes still log recipe-book placement warnings. They craft correctly, but the click-to-place helper cannot fill their ingredients. Some other languages still fall back to English for untranslated keys.

Credits: Tinkers' Construct and Mantle by SlimeKnights; Continuum Construct and Continuum Core by justduck25. All MIT. Please report problems with this fork to Myrlin, not to them.
