What's new

Mr Hobbit's Dungeon 3.1

Every update in the 3.1 line, newest first.

3.1.0

  • Know before you go The mod now checks before a run whether its score will reach the online leaderboard, and says so up front. You can still play; you just know first.
    • Stepping on the gate pad: if your run won't count online, a red title ("⚠ Not saved online") and a chat line saying why, plus a clickable "Get the latest version on CurseForge" link when the mod is out of date.
    • The difficulty and start menus open with a red line, "⚠ Scores won't be saved online (for whom). Why.", for anyone in the party it applies to.
    • If the scoreboard ticket fails when the run starts (site down, or the site and the mod don't agree on the scoring rules), you're told right away instead of at the end.
    • The reasons covered: this version is out of date (the site uses newer scoring rules), the site hasn't been updated for this version yet, the leaderboard can't be reached, online scoring is off on this server or for you. Test commands already say their run won't count when you use them.
    • The mod asks the website at startup and every 10 minutes (and again when someone steps on the gate, if the last answer is over a minute old), in the background, so nothing waits on the network.
  • Website plugin 1.9.0: a /check feed ("will scores from these rules be taken?"), and /run/start turns down a mod with the wrong scoring rules straight away with the friendly out-of-date message (mods from 3.1.0 send their rules). Older mods keep working as before.
  • How failed uploads work (unchanged): if the site can't be reached when a run ends, the score is queued and sent automatically later (retried every 5 minutes). If the site turns a score down, it says why at the end of the run; that run stays in this server's own log and boards but isn't retried.
