What's new

Mr Hobbit's Dungeon 2.17.0

  • Website plugin 1.6.0 (upload website/mrhobbits-dungeon.zip with "Replace current"):
    • Names follow the account. Every score shows the name the player used most recently (by when their runs started), so a renamed player doesn't appear twice under old and new names. Each accepted run renames that player's older scores, and a one-time update when the plugin is installed does it for everyone already on the board. Only the name changes; scores are untouched.
    • One list, not one per version. The leaderboard is a single list, highest first, with a Version column. Each player appears once, with their best score from the newest version they've played. Solo and party are still separate tables, and they still scroll sideways on phones.
    • Name filter. Player names with swearing or slurs (including leetspeak like "sh1t" and "$lut") show as "<inappropriate name>". Normal names that happen to contain a bad word (Scunthorpe, Cassandra, Cocktail, Dickens) are allowed. The list is includes/profanity.txt; website/tests/test_names.php tests it.
    • The /leaderboard endpoint adds key (a hash of the player's UUID with the site's secret salt: the same every time, but the UUID can't be worked out from it) and inappropriate (true when the name failed the filter).
  • The plaza leaderboards leave off players whose name fails the filter: the world board uses the site's flag, and the server board checks names itself with the same word list (mr-hobbits-dungeon-profanity.txt, kept identical to the site's by the test).
  • The world board tells players apart by the site's new key, so a renamed player is one entry there too. It still works with older plugins (by name, as before).
  • Scoring rules unchanged.
