Mod Tabs 0.2.0 (Forge 1.20.1)
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
What's new in 0.2.0
This update is all about making the mod actually work as promised — fixing broken stuff before adding anything new. The headline: the layout editor works again (it was completely unresponsive in 0.1.0 and could freeze your tab bar), and settings now apply instantly without restarting the game.
Fixed
- The layout editor is fully functional again — you can drag, resize, rotate, nudge with arrow keys, and actually save or exit. Before, it would just eat your input and trap you.
- Changing settings in-game now takes effect right away instead of doing nothing until you relaunched.
- Several tab glitches: clicks breaking after switching containers, tabs showing up for chests too far away to open, an empty tab bar if chests were destroyed while you were on another page, and a memory leak from custom icons.
Added
- The editor's options panel actually exists now: hide/show tabs, custom icons, icon size and position, tab order, tabs per page. (These were advertised before but had no working interface.)
- A new keybind to cycle tabs backward — Ctrl+Tab by default.
- If a tab crashes when opened, the game no longer goes down with it — the tab just gets disabled with a warning.
Changed
- Rebinding Shift+Tab finally works. If your old bind acts weird (plain Tab starts cycling), just reset it in Controls.
- Scanning for nearby chests is about 100× faster. One side effect: crafting tables, anvils, and similar workstations no longer get tabs — only actual storage blocks do.
- Double chests sitting across chunk borders no longer flicker.
Removed
- A pile of leftover junk from features that never actually existed in this version (dead settings, unused tabs, orphaned files). If you had any of those settings saved, they'll be dropped — they never did anything anyway. Custom tabs will return in a future update.
