New Additions
Wendigo
- Added the Wendigo as a new rare hostile mob
- Wendigos spawn naturally at night in forest biomes
- Designed as a mini-boss style encounter with:
- 80 Health / 40 Hearts
- Increased damage, armor, knockback resistance, and attack knockback
- Increased XP reward
- Wendigos use a unique predator-style logic:
- Chases the player while they are not looking at it
- Freezes when directly watched from a distance
- Fully commits to attacking once within 10 blocks
- Being attacked immediately disables its stalking behavior and causes it to retaliate
- Improved path recovery to reduce getting stuck during pursuit
- Added Wendigo Reveal behavior and animation
- Added 2 randomized Wendigo detection screeches
- Added a unique roar during the Wendigo Reveal animation
- Added Wendigo spawn egg
- Added Wendigo loot, renderer, animator, attributes, sounds, and localization
Spawn & Lighting Fixes
- Reworked custom mob spawning rules
- Fixed nighttime mobs incorrectly failing spawn checks due to raw skylight values
- Updated darkness checks to better respect Minecraft's actual local lighting
- Standardized spawning behavior across Forge and Fabric
- Added dedicated biome tags for custom mob spawning
- Simplified Wendigo spawning to improve natural encounter reliability
- Wendigos now primarily require:
- Nighttime
- A valid forest biome
- Valid mob spawning conditions
- Improved spawning compatibility under dense forest canopies
- Fixed loader-specific biome selector inconsistencies
- Fixed Automaton mountain structure biome tagging
Drake Fixes
- Fixed Drake variants not displaying correctly
- All Drake variants now use their correct dynamically selected textures
- Drake variants remain synchronized and persist after saving/reloading
- Updated Drake spawning behavior
- Drakes now use the hostile monster spawning pool instead of the passive creature pool
- Added dedicated Drake biome spawn tags
Renderer & Client Fixes
- Fixed missing entity renderer registration on Forge
- Fixed a crash caused by entities having no registered renderer
- Corrected Forge renderer registration to use
EntityRenderersEvent.RegisterRenderers - Prevented duplicate renderer registration
- Added proper Wendigo texture handling
- Fixed AzureLib texture handling for Drake variants
Other Fixes
- Removed duplicate Chupacabra attribute registration
- Cleaned up cross-loader entity spawning code
- Improved consistency between Forge and Fabric mob behavior
- General cleanup and stability improvements
