What's new

Mobile Networks 4.0.0

Changes from 3.2.0 to 4.0.0

Minecraft 1.21.1 | NeoForge | Java 21

3.2.0 Follow-Up Fixes

  • Fixed the camera preview with shaders and improved compatibility with Iris, Sodium and Photon.
  • Gram now requires data coverage to load, publish or interact; weak signals slow image transfers.
  • Transfers stop when coverage is lost and resume synchronisation when it returns.
  • Added black signal bars to Gram and removed text shadows from username and location fields.

3.3.0: Camera, Gallery and Maps

  • Added a standalone Camera app: move with WASD, look with the mouse, zoom with the wheel, capture with right click and cancel with Escape.
  • Camera zoom affects only the phone image, without changing the player's FOV.
  • Added a persistent local Gallery, available without coverage, with photo viewing, selection and deletion.
  • Gram now lets you choose between taking a photo and selecting one from Gallery.
  • Added local PNG/JPEG avatar imports with background validation and conversion.
  • Added Maps, a shared, persistent cartographic map with flat terrain colours and uniform blue water, not a satellite view.
  • Explored terrain is shared in bounded batches, every 60 seconds by default, without forcing chunk loading.
  • Added named rivers, seas, forests, parks, villages, cities and points of interest.
  • Added city hierarchies with zoom-dependent visibility and labels that rotate in 45-degree steps.
  • Selectable places support short descriptions, detailed descriptions and photo carousels, with community photo contributions.
  • Operators can inspect creators and moderate any label, including non-selectable ones.

3.4.0: Messaging, Languages and Voice

  • Added persistent private conversations, offline recipients and automatic delivery when the recipient regains phone access and coverage.
  • Added operator SMS sent exclusively from authorised Server blocks, with optional replies from the phone.
  • Added persistent operator profiles with circular avatars, adjustable square crops and optional blue verification badges.
  • Profile photos support Camera, Gallery, local image paths and direct public image URLs.
  • Added Server-block pickup and relocation within the same world, preserving its identity, password, networks, profiles and conversations.
  • Added British English as the default and fallback; all Spanish Minecraft variants automatically use Spanish.
  • Translated interfaces, settings, tooltips, notifications, call states and error messages without translating player-created content.
  • Added configurable proximity voice, enabled by default and compatible with private calls.
  • Nearby players hear your microphone, but not the remote caller unless you enable the optional speakerphone.
  • Speakerphone starts switched off; microphone mute applies to both proximity and call audio, and duplicate audio between nearby call partners is prevented.
  • Fixed false private-chat coverage warnings while signal information was still loading.
  • Removed artificial text-message delays on 5G/5G+, combined inbox/contact loading and prevented stale refreshes from overwriting newer actions.

4.0.0: Roaming, Plans and Billing

  • Added per-player primary, secondary, roaming and blocked network permissions. Each player has one primary operator supplying their plans.
  • Added individual roaming signal caps, free message/minute allowances and mineral charges per usage batch, with bulk settings for eligible roaming networks.
  • Added an R beside the signal bars, separate from the network name.
  • Added configurable operator plans with titles, descriptions, message allowances, call minutes and maximum signal tiers.
  • Plan prices support up to two materials: iron, copper, diamonds, gold or coal. Free plans and complimentary player assignments are supported.
  • Added phone subscriptions and manual reactivation with atomic inventory checks: missing either material prevents any deduction.
  • Active plan changes are queued for the next renewal, with confirmation before leaving a complimentary plan for a paid one.
  • Added configurable Minecraft-day billing periods, global defaults, operator overrides and Overworld-midnight renewals.
  • Added half-day renewal warnings listing the upcoming plan and required materials.
  • Failed payments suspend service until manual paid reactivation; the operator app remains accessible, with optional operator-specific payment-failure SMS.
  • Added allowance bars, whole remaining call minutes, phone numbers, renewal countdowns and available plans to the operator app.
  • Added multiple beneficiaries, equal mineral distribution and administrator remainder allocation.
  • Added the Income app for beneficiaries, with persistent offline earnings and withdrawals that retain any materials which do not fit, including in creative mode.
  • Rebuilt Server administration with consistent fixed-scale layouts, paginated player selectors and dedicated roaming, plan, billing and SMS sections.
  • Added revision checks and account/network access checks to prevent stale overwrites and unauthorised settings reads.
  • Previously loaded messages remain readable offline through a bounded, persistent local cache; sending and new content still require coverage.
  • Added an unread-message reminder in Minecraft chat ten seconds after joining while carrying a phone.
  • Added an Automatic / English (UK) / Spanish phone-interface selector in the mod's settings.
  • Billing checks online players once per second, without loading offline inventories or generating chunks.
  • Retained optimised voice forwarding, background storage, bounded caches, batched map updates, the left-centred call overlay and original untrimmed call sounds.
  • Fixed compact-screen layout overlaps.

Updating

Install 4.0.0 on the server and every client, alongside Simple Voice Chat for NeoForge. Back up your world and remove older Mobile Networks JARs before updating.

Voice still uses one UDP port, 24454 by default. This update requires no additional ports or external economy plugins.
