Mobile Networks 4.1.0 - Wi-Fi Update

Minecraft 1.21.1 | NeoForge | Java 21 | Simple Voice Chat required

Added

  • Craftable Wi-Fi router with the supplied custom model, correctly sized collision and player-facing placement.
  • Server-issued provider chips with subscriber information, custom yellow names, description lore and enchantment glint. Chips cannot stack or be renamed in an anvil.
  • A real chip slot inside each router. Breaking and placing a router elsewhere in the same world preserves its chip, password and settings.
  • Password confirmation and show/hide controls, router ownership, authorised editors and blocked-player settings.
  • Separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks: longer-range, slower 2.4 GHz and shorter-range, faster 5 GHz.
  • Per-provider SSID templates, optional separators, random or custom suffixes, and optional band labels.
  • Server-side chip issuance and revocation, subscriber upload/download settings, and shared router message/call allowances.
  • A choice between renewing Wi-Fi allowances with the provider's billing cycle or on a separate Minecraft-day cycle.
  • A preinstalled Settings app containing Wi-Fi and Mobile Data. The existing Mobile Networks screen remains available inside Mobile Data.
  • Saved Wi-Fi networks, automatic reconnection, signal-dependent connection delays and a four-level Wi-Fi indicator.

Integration

  • Wi-Fi supplies Internet access to Gram, Maps and Store when the router has an enabled chip and coverage from its provider.
  • Connected routers without Internet retain their networks and display a warning instead of silently using mobile data.
  • Speedtest displays the router's provider and server, with separately configurable upload and download rates of up to 1500 Mbps. Its gauge remains capped at 1000 while numerical results can exceed that scale.
  • Store keeps displaying MB/s, converted consistently from Mbps.
  • NetMonster continues to report the mobile connection, including while connected to Wi-Fi or with mobile data disabled.
  • Calls can switch between mobile and Wi-Fi without resetting their elapsed timer. Usage is charged to the current connection, with Wi-Fi allowances shared per router and kept separate from mobile allowances.
  • Mobile signal bars remain visible; the cellular technology label is hidden while connected to Wi-Fi or with mobile data switched off.

Reliability

  • English and Spanish support throughout the new settings and provisioning screens.
  • Server-side checks for passwords, router permissions, chip ownership and chip duplication.
  • Spatially indexed, staggered coverage checks, cached router uplinks and bounded chip-list pages.
  • Original router and chip textures preserved without resizing or repainting.

Upgrade note: Install 4.1.0 on both the server and every client, remove older Mobile Networks JARs from mods, and back up the world first. The Simple Voice Chat UDP port and previous voice settings remain unchanged.
