Mob Text Bubbles changelog for Forge 1.20.1
Added
Adjustable bubble height. New option bubbleHeightOffset in the rendering section of the config. It sets how many blocks above the top of a mob's head the bubble appears. Default 0.55, range from minus 2.0 to 10.0. It applies to every mob and each client uses its own value.
Name tag conditions for dialogue. Dialogue entries can now depend on the mob's name tag, inside conditions. The condition named, set to true or false, requires or forbids a name tag. The condition name takes one name or a list and the name tag must match one of them. The condition name_contains takes a text or a list and the name tag must contain one of them. Matching ignores upper and lower case and formatting codes.
Hunt dialogue. When a mob is hunting another mob, for example a zombie chasing a villager, and both are within 12 blocks of each other, both of them can say context lines. Players are never part of a hunt. The hunter uses the condition hunting, for example hunting villager. The prey uses the condition nearby, for example nearby hostile. The kinds are dragon, creeper, boss, hostile, villager and animal. When several kinds are listed, all of them must apply.
New option huntSpeechChance in the frequency section. Default 0.35. It is the chance, every 2 seconds, that a mob in a hunt says one of its hunt lines instead of a normal line.
New dialogue lines included with the mod: 3 for villagers hunted by hostile mobs and 2 for zombies hunting villagers.
Changed
The nearby condition now means that a mob of that kind is hunting this entity. Before, it meant that such a mob was somewhere within 12 blocks. Custom dialogue that used nearby will behave differently.
An unknown kind in nearby now makes the entry never match. Before, it was ignored.
The wolf line Grr now uses hunting hostile, so wolves growl when they are hunting a hostile mob.
Notes
Config changes are picked up when the toml file is saved, because Forge reloads it. If a change does not show, rejoin the world. The vanilla reload command reloads dialogue and bubble styles. Hunt dialogue needs enableContextualDialogue to be on.
