Minimal Gear HUD

Always know what is about to break, before it breaks.

Minimal Gear HUD adds one small, tidy widget to your screen: the item in your hands and the armor you are wearing, each with its durability. When something is close to breaking, the mod gives you a gentle pulsing warning, so a pickaxe never dies in the middle of a cave and your elytra never gives up mid-flight.

It is client-side only. Install it on your own game; nothing is needed on the server, and it works on servers that do not have the mod.

Make it yours

Everything is configurable in game (Mods -> Minimal Gear HUD -> Config):

• screen position (anchor, offsets), scale and background opacity
• text as percent, remaining durability, remaining/max, or bar only
• warning thresholds, pulse speed, glow strength
• which slots to show and which to warn about

Accessibility

• Colorblind-friendly color scheme (blue to orange instead of green to red) and a monochrome scheme
• Reduced motion mode: a steady glow instead of a pulsing one, for anyone bothered by flashing

FAQ

Does it need to be installed on the server? No. It is client-side only.

Does it work in singleplayer? Yes.

Will it warn me in Creative mode? No. Items do not take damage there, so the warning stays quiet.

Can I hide it temporarily? Press H (rebindable), or press F1 like any other HUD element.

The widget is in the way of another mod's HUD. Move it with the anchor and offset options, or change its scale.
