Middle-earth Folk v1.0.0

v1.0.0 - First release

Women among the peoples of Middle-earth.

  • Female appearance for fourteen combat roles, added at runtime: every soldier, lord, militiaman and brigand chief among the free peoples and the brigands can now be a woman.
  • Faces, hair and eyes of their own, and hair that lies on the shoulders and down the back, over clothes and over armour alike. Go and look.
  • Thirty percent women by default, with overrides per npc type, per people and per land. Setting the share to zero returns the world to exactly what it was.
  • Decided once and for good. Gender is worked out from an NPC's own identity rather than rolled, so a villager is the same person every time the chunk loads. The other side of that: changing the share does not rewrite anyone already alive, only whoever comes next.
  • A figure you can read across a street. Drawn as its own layer over the model, in the same passes and the same buffer as the body, so it wears exactly what its owner wears, seam for seam. A second layer puts the worn chest plate over it, with dye and enchantment glint.
  • Every woman is her own size, worked out the same way her gender is, so a crowd looks like a crowd rather than a rank of copies.
  • Movement when she walks, runs, jumps or falls, with strength and settling both adjustable, and switched off entirely with one tick.
  • Nothing behaves differently. Trade, hiring, reputation and combat treat a woman exactly as they treat anyone else. This mod is about appearance and nothing else.
  • Orcs stay orcs, and not because a list says so. A config that lists Mordor by mistake still cannot produce an orc with a woman's face.
  • All of it on the Spawn Balance screen: its own tab in /mespawn gui, keys in /mespawn set with tab completion, values saved into named presets. /mespawn analyze starts reporting how many of each building's residents are women.
  • English and Русский, settings and tooltips included.

Built for Minecraft 1.21.8 · Fabric · requires Fabric API, Middle-earth 1.0.1 and Middle-earth Spawn Balance 1.3.0.
