Description
Mesozoic — Pre-Alpha

Explore deep time, uncover fossils, and build a research expedition in Minecraft.
Mesozoic combines paleontology, prehistoric wildlife, scientific technology and an adventure campaign for Minecraft 1.20.1 / Forge 47.4.23 / Java 17.
Discover prehistoric life
Encounter 3D prehistoric animals with growth, hunger, thirst and ecological behaviors. Excavate fossils, examine specimens, process DNA and develop your research through the Analyzer, DNA Extractor and Paleogenesis Chamber.

Build your expedition
Explore with utility vehicles, motorcycles, watercraft and helicopters. Transport cargo and passengers, use the Explorer’s supervised MesoPilot assistance, and develop your base with energy, fluid and gas systems.
Research advanced technology
Process materials in tiered machines, manufacture equipment at the Advanced Engineering Workbench, survey fossil-rich layers and mine filtered resources with the Digital Miner. Produce hydrogen for the Jetpack and power the Chrono Disassembler with FE.

Follow the adventure
Investigate ruins, solve research puzzles, collect evidence and face increasingly dangerous encounters. The campaign progresses through betrayal, a volcanic escape, temporal instability and a final confrontation. Explore the aftermath after the campaign.
Installation
- Minecraft 1.20.1.
- Forge 47.4.23 and Java 17.
- The client requires GLTF Renderer API 1.0.0-beta.4; it is not bundled in the Mesozoic JAR.
- Flybrain integration is optional.
- Use matching mod versions on client and server.
Pre-alpha notice
This is an early playable build. Expect balance changes and visual issues. Back up worlds before updating. The current build passed 351 required server GameTests and a clean build; those checks do not guarantee visual correctness or shader compatibility. Report problems with reproduction steps, mod versions and logs.
Media
Screenshots and videos are captured from the mod. Any enhanced promotional artwork must be marked as edited artwork, rather than an unmodified gameplay screenshot. The media session used Oculus 1.8.0, Embeddium 0.3.31 and Complementary Reimagined r5.9.3. This setup rendered the showcased models, but broader shader compatibility and performance remain under evaluation. Shaders are optional.
Known pre-alpha issue
Some Advanced Engineering Workbench recipes currently share identical ingredient sets and may not produce every intended result. Recipe selection must be corrected before public release.
