McGun

Steel, machines and ammunition crafting for Point Blank.
Available for NeoForge and Fabric on Minecraft 26.1.2. More Versions coming soon.

Requires Point Blank. On Fabric you also need Fabric API and Forge Config API Port.

McGun turns ammo into something you have to work for. Find molds in the world, cast casings, assemble bullets, and build a base that only C4 can break into.

Four machines, two tiers each

McGun adds four machines in an Iron and a Steel tier. Every machine has its own 3D model, working animation, sounds and GUI. Start with the Iron tier; the Steel tier unlocks the advanced recipes. All machines work with hoppers and pipes, so you can automate them.

Forge

Turns iron into Steel and coal into Coke. It also smelts ores like a Blast Furnace.

Foundry

Casts ammo casings. Put a mold in the left slot, metal nuggets on top and fuel below. The mold is not used up.

Assembler

Turns a casing, Ammo Filling and Packaging into Point Blank ammo.

Fabricator

The workbench of the mod. It builds gun internals, steel tools and armor, gadgets, reinforced blocks, molds and even the other machines. It also repairs steel gear.

Normal fuel and hot fuel

The Forge and the Foundry burn normal fuel like coal, but Coke is hot fuel.

• Normal fuel (orange flame) only works for simple recipes, such as copper casings.
• Hot fuel (blue flame) is needed for steel and iron recipes, and it doubles the output when you smelt ores.

How ammo works

1. Find a mold. Molds are hidden in chests all over the world: Mineshafts, Shipwrecks, Trial Chambers, Nether Fortresses, Bastions, End Cities, Ancient Cities and more. Every caliber has its own mold, from 9mm and 5.56mm up to .50 BMG, 40mm grenades and Javelin missiles.
2. Cast the casing in the Foundry.
3. Assemble the ammo in the Assembler.

New molds unlock new ammunition types.

Blank molds are made in the Fabricator. Use them to copy molds you have already found.

Steel gear

• Steel tools: sword, pickaxe, shovel, axe, hoe and the Steel Paxel, a multi-tool that mines like a pickaxe, axe and shovel and hits like an axe.
• Steel armor that is especially strong against bullets: every piece reduces damage from Point Blank guns.
• Repair steel gear with steel in an Anvil or in the Fabricator.

Materials and parts

Steel ingots, nuggets and blocks, Coke (burns twice as long as coal), rods, internals, ammo filling, packaging and the machine casings you need to build the machines.

Reinforced blocks and C4

• Reinforced Concrete: place Wet Reinforced Concrete and it hardens after 5 minutes. Hardened, it is unbreakable.
• Reinforced Bars: unbreakable bars for windows and cells.
• Reinforced Door with a PIN keypad (see below).
• C4: a timed explosive and the only way through reinforced blocks. It even breaks bedrock it is attached to.

Reinforced Door

Set a 4 to 8 digit PIN the first time you use the door. After that, everyone needs the PIN to get in. Shift + right-click with an empty hand opens the settings: choose which players may enter, how fast the door closes again, whether a PIN is needed, or change the PIN. Redstone cannot open it.

Gadgets

• C4 Detector: sounds an alarm when C4 is placed nearby.
• Warner: bind it to your detectors and it beeps in your pocket when one of them goes off.
• GPS Tracker: right-click a player or mob to tag them, then follow them like a compass.
• Scanner: shows whether you are being tracked and lists tracked players and mobs around you.
• Pliers: remove trackers that someone put on you.

Bonus: Shift + right-click with an empty glass bottle to store one level of experience in a Bottle o' Enchanting.

Point Blank changes

• Point Blank's gunmetal is replaced by McGun steel in all gun recipes.
• The overpowered minigun and the arms dealer villager are removed.

Recipe viewers

Full Just Enough Items (JEI) and Roughly Enough Items (REI) support: every machine recipe, mold loot chances and repair values are shown in-game. Click the + button to move the ingredients straight into the machine.

Configurable

A config file lets you change armor protection against guns, steel tool and armor stats, fuel burn time, the Coke bonus, C4 timer, power and damage, and detector range and alarm volume.

Classic textures included

Prefer the old look? McGun ships with the McGun Original resource pack, which brings back the original textures and the old block-style machines. Just enable it in Options > Resource Packs.
