[0.7.0] — July 11, 2026

This update makes villagers feel more distinct, responsive, and aware of the world around them. It introduces deeper relationships, personality-driven dialogue, moods, seasons, weather, holidays, and expanded village gossip.

Hearts remain the only visible relationship score. All new systems work quietly in the background and can be configured or disabled.

Deeper Relationships

  • Villagers now develop separate feelings toward each player based on:

    • Trust
    • Respect
    • Warmth
    • Attraction
    • Tension
    • Familiarity
  • These feelings influence which responses become available and how villagers react.

  • Important replies can now result in a critical success, success, partial success, or rebuff.

  • Results consider hearts, mood, past interactions, and the villager’s feelings toward the player.

  • Reopening a conversation cannot be used to reroll the result immediately.

  • Repeatedly choosing the same response gives smaller changes, preventing relationship farming.

  • Attraction is disabled for underage villagers and villagers married to someone else.

More Varied Conversations

  • All 13 villager personalities now have unique dialogue for the most commonly used topics.
  • Most personality responses include multiple variations to reduce repetition.
  • The fears conversation now offers several approaches, including comforting, encouraging, pressing for details, or sharing your own fear.
  • Responses requiring more trust provide a harmless in-character refusal when chosen too early.

Villager Moods

Villagers can now enter temporary emotional states based on recent events:

  • Grateful
  • Smitten
  • Proud
  • Annoyed
  • Grieving
  • Elated

Gifts, quests, attacks, births, deaths, and marriages can influence these moods and affect later conversations.

Seasons, Holidays, and Weather

  • Villagers can comment on spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
  • Added festival dialogue for Spring Bloom, Midsummer, Harvest Festival, and Midwinter.
  • Serene Seasons is supported when installed; otherwise, seasons follow an internal calendar.
  • Villagers can react to clear skies, rain, and storms.
  • Added “How’s the season treating you?” and a new weather conversation under Chit-Chat.

Expanded Village Gossip

  • Villagers now notice when residents move into or leave a village.
  • Gossip now covers marriages, divorces, births, deaths, arrivals, and departures.
  • Every personality reports gossip in its own style, with multiple dialogue variations.
  • Added “Any rumors going around?” to the Village menu.

New Topics

  • “What are you hoping for?” — unlocked at 25 hearts and connected to deeper personal conversations.
  • “How have you been, in yourself?” — reacts to the villager’s current emotional state.
  • New topics covering seasons, weather, and village rumors.

Compatibility and Configuration

  • Existing worlds and datapacks remain compatible.
  • Relationship data is saved per player and villager and cleaned up when appropriate.
  • New settings control relationships, dialogue checks, moods, seasons, holidays, weather, gossip, decay, progression limits, and debugging.
  • Disabling all RPG features restores the 0.6.0 experience.
  • The new systems avoid constant background processing to minimize performance impact.
