Lumina World 0.0.14
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
0.0.14
Two halves of the mod that were creative-only are now found in the world, the thirteen switches have a screen instead of thirteen commands, and the time system lost the one part of it that could not survive a second player.
Fixes a crash on startup when Amendments is installed. That is the reason not to skip this version: with 0.0.13 and Amendments both present, the game stopped during bootstrap, before a window opened, and the report blamed Amendments rather than the disagreement between the two.

Added - the world
Crystal geodes, one per family. The shape is amethyst's: a shell of the family's crystalstone, a lining of its crystal block, and inside that the budding block that pushes out buds and clusters over time. Every family generates in the country its effect already describes, so finding one tells the same story as drinking it.
| Family | Where | Shell |
|---|---|---|
| Glacium | Snowy plains, ice spikes, frozen peaks | Packed ice |
| Solstral | Desert, badlands, savanna | Blackstone |
| Zephyrium | Windswept hills, jagged peaks, cherry grove | Calcite |
| Gaia | Lush caves, jungle, mangrove | Tuff |
| Noctis | Deep dark, dripstone caves, dark forest | Deepslate |
| Aurium | Anywhere, and hardly ever | Smooth basalt |
Ore for all seven metals, 14 new blocks - each in stone and in deepslate. The metals had blocks and raw forms but nothing to dig them out of, which is why they were creative-only. What separates them is depth and rarity: verdanite and toxenium turn up near the surface, spectronis lies below -32 and almost never, and the four deepest discard their veins where they would open into a cave.
Every crystal and every metal is now obtainable in survival. Measured, not assumed: of the 149 crystal and metal blocks and items, none is unreachable. The six crystal stones were the last gap and now have a recipe of their own - four shard clusters make a stone, and a stone gives four back, the same rung as the one below it.
Added - a settings screen
Mod Menu and Cloth Config, both optional. The screen does one of two things depending on where it is opened:
- In a world it edits that world's game rules. Changes go to the server, which decides - permission level 2, the same as
/gamerule- so it works on a server and does nothing at all for a player without permission. - From the title screen it saves the settings you prefer to
config/luminamod.json. That file changes no world by itself; a switch at the top of the in-world screen copies it into the world you are in.
Rules that mean nothing without another are shown off and cannot be changed until their requirement is back on.
Added - sleeping
A bed may be used at any hour. Vanilla refuses one by day because sleeping skips to morning, and skipping from morning to morning would do nothing. Nothing is skipped here, so the refusal had nothing left to protect. You are woken when the light turns: lie down at night and you get up at dawn as always, lie down at noon and you get up at dusk.
Resting runs at eight times vanilla, up from two, and the speed is now a per-world setting: /luminamod time sleepspeed <n>, between 1 and 200.
/luminamod time opens with the clock - the day number and the time of day as a person reads it, before anything about factors.
Changed - one clock for everybody
The day no longer runs at a speed decided by the biome the group is standing in. That was built for one player and could not survive two: there is one sun, so two players in two countries had to share it, and the majority vote that chose between them tied on exactly two players and then froze at whatever it had last been - including a tie between a desert and a plain, which meant that in a two-player game the pace almost never changed at all.
The clock now runs at one speed everywhere, four times slower than vanilla. Bed rest, the phantom count in world time, the slower weather and /luminamod time are all unaffected.
Fixed
- Crash on startup with Amendments installed. Both mods overrode the same inherited method on the brewing stand and the bell block entity, which Mixin cannot merge. The material a block holds is now sent from one place for every host, by injection rather than by overriding, so nothing is contributed that another mod can collide with.
- Resting never actually ran faster than vanilla. The clock's gate can carry time forward by one tick and no more, so asking for eight put eight in and took one out. The surplus is now handed to the world clock directly instead of being left in the accumulator.
- Time kept racing after getting out of bed. The same accumulator: seven eighths of every slept tick piled up, and the backlog drained at vanilla speed long after the nap ended.
- Ore blocks are in the mineable and tool-tier tags, merged into the hand-written files rather than replacing them.
Removed
- The biome-paced day length, its majority vote and its hysteresis.
- An experiment with per-country daylight brightness. It worked - measured end to end, a swamp reached the renderer at 0.71 against a desert's 1.00 - but the difference could not be seen in play, and a system nobody notices is not worth its complexity.
