Locks Reforged 1.8.0 (NeoForge 1.21.1)
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
1.8.0 — 2026-10-27
Minecraft 1.21.1 · NeoForge
Brings the NeoForge version up to date with Locks Reforged 1.8.0 on Forge, including improved structure locks, arena-reset commands and expanded enchantment settings.
Modded Structures and Generated Locks
- Improved lock generation in modded structures. Placebo loot entries are now recognised, and unfamiliar loot uses a configurable fallback instead of being treated as worthless.
- Updated for Minecraft 1.21.1’s loot formats, including nested loot tables and item components. Older supported formats remain readable.
- More reliable container detection. A follow-up check catches loot containers missed during world generation. Double chests crossing chunk boundaries receive one lock once both halves are loaded.
- Generated barrels receive locks by default. Supported modded barrels can also be included.
- Optional generated door locks. Doors in structures can receive locks when enabled. This remains off by default.
- Expanded generation controls. Added block, dimension and loot-table filters, configurable handling of unfamiliar loot, and overrides for loot values.
- Lootr containers are opt-in and are correctly treated as individual containers.
- Pending lock placements survive restarts, including decisions waiting for a neighbouring chunk.
- Existing areas are not automatically rescanned or relocked. Normal generation changes apply to newly generated chunks.
Commands for Arenas and Datapacks
- New
/lockscommands let operators, command blocks, datapack functions and the console relock, unlock, inspect and check locks at specified coordinates. - Reset entire areas, with a preview option to check which locks are included.
- Keep or reroll the puzzle. Relocking preserves existing keys, ownership, tier and enchantments. An optional reroll changes the combination.
- Restore missing locks with
/locks ensure. Existing locks are relocked; missing locks can be recreated on supported chests, barrels and doors with a new key identity. - Resets take effect immediately. Active picking attempts are cancelled, and newly locked containers close their open inventory screens and reject further clicks.
- Commands only affect loaded chunks. Missing chunks, invalid targets or exceeded operation limits prevent changes.
- Added generation diagnostics and an example arena-reset datapack updated for Minecraft 1.21.1.
Enchantment Controls
- New master switch for Locks Reforged enchantments, alongside individual enchantment toggles.
- Disabled enchantments have no effect, are excluded from random acquisition and cannot be added or upgraded at an anvil, including through other mods’ anvil recipes.
- Existing enchantments are preserved. Re-enabling them restores their effects, and disabled ones are identified in item tooltips.
- Adjust rarity separately from strength. Configure availability and frequency for enchanting tables, loot, villager books, wandering-trader locks and generated locks. Default settings preserve the previous odds.
- Correct trader pricing. Locks that receive no enchantment are sold without an enchantment surcharge.
- Better compatibility with enchantment modifiers. Other mods’ enchantment-level adjustments now also apply to Attunement and Complexity.
- Settings refresh when the server configuration reloads.
Fixes and Compatibility
- Improved Respawning Structures support. Structure resets preserve player-placed, command-created and boundary-crossing locks.
- Fixed redstone behaviour after unlocking. Doors, trapdoors and fence gates respond to their current power state.
- Zombies cannot break locked doors while lock protection is enabled.
- Stronger container protection. Locking consistently invalidates inventory access previously cached by other mods.
- Fixed lock-state saving and syncing, and preserved lock records through Carry On moves.
- Added import support for pending lock placements saved by Forge 1.8.0 when upgrading a world.
- The NeoForge network protocol remains unchanged at version 5. New save fields are optional.
