Lively Moves
Lively Moves makes the player's body react to how it moves. It leans into a sprint, banks into turns, tucks its legs in a jump and squats when it lands. The mod is client-side only: you install it for yourself, and it animates every player you see, on any server.
What changes
- Sprinting: the body leans forward, the arms pump harder, the shoulders twist against the hips and the hips dip between steps.
- Turning and stopping: the body banks into a turn, leans forward when you set off and rocks back when you stop.
- Jumping: a running jump becomes a stride, with one leg forward and the opposite arm up. A jump from a standstill tucks the legs.
- Falling: the arms spread for balance. On a long fall the arms and legs flail.
- Landing: the body squats, deeper after a higher fall.
- Ladders and vines: the hands reach for the next rung while the opposite leg steps up.
- Water: the player treads water at the surface.
- Standing still: the chest breathes and the weight shifts from leg to leg. Turning on the spot takes small steps.
- Creative flight: the legs hang and sway.
- Getting hit: the body flinches back.
Swimming, elytra flight, riding, sleeping and sneaking stay as they are in vanilla. An arm that is drawing a bow, raising a shield or swinging a weapon also stays untouched, and armour follows the body.
Options
Open Options → More mods... → Ruchy... in game (ruchy is Polish for moves). You can:
- set the animation strength from 0% to 200% (0% is plain Minecraft);
- switch each group on or off: lean, jump and fall, landing, ladders and water, standing, flinch when hit;
- choose whether other players are animated or only you.
The settings are saved in config/ruchy.properties. There are also two client commands: /ruchy strength <0-200> and /ruchy info.
Requirements
- Minecraft 26.2 with Fabric Loader 0.19 or newer and Fabric API.
- Client only. The server does not need it.
- Works with Sodium and Iris, and without them.
- The screenshots are taken with a shader pack. Without one, the game looks like vanilla Minecraft.
- It has not been tested together with other mods that change the player's animations.
