Description
📌 LEI — The Experience It Brings You
Ever wished the chest screen itself could search items, show recipes, explain mobs — and even sort your loot for you? That's LEI.
A dockable sidebar that brings search, recipes, a visual codex and inventory tools to the side of any container GUI. ✅ No vanilla layout is changed, 🚫 no blocks or items are added, and core features need no server-side install at all.
Open any chest or machine and LEI is already there: 🔍 find any item, 📚 see how to craft or obtain it, 🐾 look up creatures, biomes and structures — then 🧹 sort, fill or clean your inventory and ☁️ store overflow in your own personal Cloud. Fully playable in singleplayer; on multiplayer servers the mod is optional — installed server-side only if you want the Cloud.
🤝 Coexists with JEI / REI / EMI. Minecraft 1.21.1 · NeoForge 21.1.248+ · Java 21+.
📌 Always-On Adaptive Sidebar

Natively adapted to inventories, chests, machines and every container GUI: a non-intrusive, self-adaptive utility sidebar docks to the left of the screen. It never touches the vanilla GUI layout, never squeezes item slots, and conflicts with no mainstream mod. The recipe-book button is linked, so there is no complex keybind to memorize — open any GUI and every core LEI feature is already there.
🔍 Smart Search, Global Coverage

No more hunting through endless item lists — a lightweight intelligent search engine cuts in from every angle: 🧩 mods, 📦 items, 🧱 blocks, 🧪 recipes, 🏷️ types and tags. It supports multiple search syntaxes, fuzzy matching and category filters for precise hits instead of clutter.
🧪 Recipes & Uses, One View

Recipes, crafting trace-back and uses overview all live inside the sidebar and run side by side — no jumping to external screens. Full forward/backward source tracing: see how something is made and what it is used for, with clean, direct controls.
☁️ A Data Warehouse Beyond Space

An integrated remote warehouse lets you deposit and withdraw items across GUIs and across locations, freeing you from local container limits. Stable logic, tidy categories and a one-click sidebar shortcut make it always ready when you are.
🛠️ Integrated Tools, Full Management

The global sidebar consolidates the scattered, messy little utilities into one place — no more juggling hotkeys or jumbled screens. Operations stay minimal with zero learning cost, and every tool is fused with smart search and two-way whitelist/blacklist rules for an effortlessly "lazy" play experience.
🐾 Simpler Actions, Back to the Experience

LEI goes beyond ordinary containers: 💧 fluids, ⚡ energy, ✨ experience and even mobs are handled and managed in one place. A lightweight creature-capture and companion system lets you summon your own partner for multi-purpose help — 🛡️ guarding, ⚔️ fighting, 🕊️ flying assist and 🤿 underwater exploration. Auto-eat and simulated interaction remove repetitive grind and keep your hands free.
📖 A Visual Codex, Deep Compatibility

A full visual encyclopedia is built in: items, blocks, creatures, biomes, dimensions, world structures, advancements, mechanics and mod introductions. It deeply integrates handbook systems such as 📕 Patchouli — books, recipes, items and entities are merged into the codex, and the codex and item search link both ways, each entry jumping straight to its own chapter. Search, handbooks, codex and advancements in one place, dramatically lowering the cost of exploring and researching in complex modpacks.
🧹 Quick Tools, Deep Integration

Built-in inventory sorting, categorized storage and destroy tools are fused with smart search. Custom sorting rules, auto-classification and two-way control over containers and your backpack layout keep survival flowing.
9. 🎛️ Smart Mode Adaptation

Made for both singleplayer and multiplayer with a built-in graceful-degradation mechanism: everything is unlocked in singleplayer, while multiplayer respects permissions through multi-layer configuration that automatically avoids sync and cheat risks. Servers without LEI are no problem — the client simply degrades to its pure-client features.
10. 🌱 Steady Iteration, Building the Foundation

LEI is under steady, continuous development — building its own semantic data system and a cross-mod compatibility ecosystem, polishing details and widening mod coverage with every release, aiming to be the lightweight utility that fits most modded environments.
🚀 LEI — Core Architecture Roadmap
- 🧬 Three-Layer Semantic Data System — native automatic data, mod-defined data and player-personal data form a brand-new, standalone LEI semantic data architecture.
- 🏷️ Parallel Tag Ecosystem — universal semantic tags for unified categorization, retrieval and aggregation.
- 🔌 Open API Ecosystem — simple, complete metadata registration & query, plus event-callback APIs.
- 📊 Visual Data Structures — universal dual-mode UI components for immersive data browsing.
- 🔗 Expanding Cross-Mod Compatibility — through the open API and the data system, smoothing compatibility with more and more modded environments.
⚙️ Basic Usage
- 🖱️ Sidebar on — open any inventory, chest, machine or container GUI: the LEI sidebar is always there, no manual activation needed.
- ✨ Features — one-click switching between Search, Codex, Recipes, Sort and Cloud: minimal operations, zero learning cost.
- ⌨️ Default keys — all rebindable in the Controls screen:
- 🎚️ Personalization — feature toggles, interaction logic and multiplayer permission levels are all configurable.
❓ FAQ
🤝 Q: Does it conflict with JEI / REI / EMI and other mainstream mods?
✅ A: No — the functions complement each other. Traditional mods focus on recipe lookup, while LEI focuses on integrated tools and data-ecosystem expansion. They run side by side without interfering.
🌐 Q: Can I join a server that doesn't have LEI?
✅ A: Yes. All pure-client features (search, codex, sorting, etc.) work normally; server-side features such as the Cloud are automatically greyed out. You can join vanilla or unmodded servers safely — no disconnects, no server-side prerequisites.
💾 Q: Where is my data stored? Will uninstalling lose it?
✅ A: Settings live in the client config folder; Cloud data travels with the save (in the save folder for singleplayer, in the world folder on a server), isolated per player UUID. LEI registers no blocks, items or entities — uninstalling leaves no world residue; back up those folders if you want to keep the data.
⚡ Q: Will it lag on low-end devices?
✅ A: Designed to stay lightweight — built-in caching and rendering optimizations keep the daily overhead small and it fits the vast majority of hardware.
🧩 Q: Can it work without third-party adapters?
✅ A: Fully. It natively adapts to vanilla and modded content and is being actively adapted to more mods, with no prerequisites. Want a mod adapted faster? Leave a comment and let me know.
📣 Q: How do I keep up with updates?
✅ A: LEI is iterating steadily rather than chasing a one-shot perfect release — it needs long-term polish and timely feedback. Feature ideas or requests? Leave a comment to reach me.
💬 Questions, feedback or mod-adaptation requests? Leave a comment — LEI is shaped by player feedback.
