Lead
On
|
Better
Leads
》
Lead On is a lightweight mod that improves Minecraft's vanilla lead system without replacing it.
It gives leads more range, smoother pulling, better control, and easier handling when moving multiple mobs.
《
Features
》
- Configurable lead distance from 5 to 128 blocks
- 32 block default lead distance
- Configurable pull start distance
- Configurable pull strength
- Optional disabling of distance-based lead breaking
- Sneak-right-click a fence to attach all currently loaded mobs leashed to you
- Optional villager leash support
- Optional hostile mob leash support
- Datapack support for custom leashable and blocked entities
- Server-side configuration
- Vanilla lead rendering, networking, and leash state
- Lightweight implementation without unnecessary world scanning
《
Longer
Leads
》
Lead On increases the distance a lead can stretch before breaking.
The default maximum distance is 32 blocks, and it can be configured anywhere from 5 to 128 blocks.
《
Better
Pulling
》
The mod lets you control when a leashed entity starts getting pulled and how strong the pull should be.
Lead On keeps Minecraft's existing leash movement and adjusts the values instead of replacing the system entirely.
《
Distance
Breaking
》
Distance-based lead breaking can be disabled completely.
When disabled, the normal distance snap check is prevented while the rest of the leash system continues working normally.
《
Attach
Multiple
Mobs
》
When enabled, sneaking and right-clicking a fence transfers every currently loaded mob leashed to you onto that fence.
This only checks entities already loaded in the current dimension and does not force-load chunks.
《
More
Leashable
Entities
》
Lead On supports datapack-controlled leash permissions.
Additional entities can be added through:
data/leadon/tags/entity_types/additional_leashable.json
Entities can be blocked through:
data/leadon/tags/entity_types/cannot_leash.json
The deny tag takes priority.
《
Villagers
& Hostile
Mobs
》
Villagers and hostile mobs can optionally be made leashable.
Both options are disabled by default.
《
Server
Configuration
》
Lead On creates a server configuration file at:
config/leadon.json
Main options include lead distance, pull distance, pull strength, villager support, hostile mob support, and multi-mob fence attachment.
《
Compatibility
》
Lead On keeps Minecraft's normal leash system wherever possible.
- Vanilla lead items
- Vanilla leash state
- Vanilla networking
- Vanilla movement
- Vanilla lead rendering
This helps keep the mod compatible with vanilla behavior and modded entities.
《
Supported
Versions
》
Lead On is available for multiple Forge, Fabric, and NeoForge versions.
Check the Files tab for the build that matches your Minecraft version and mod loader.
Lead On keeps the vanilla lead system simple while making it more useful, configurable, and reliable.
