Justify Portal Gun — Beta.95–Beta.129
Cumulative changes from 2.0.0-beta.95 through 2.0.0-beta.129. Minecraft 26.2 changes are listed separately below; the maintained Minecraft 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 builds remain on Beta.127.
Portal guns and controls
- Added a customizable portal gun with Creative-only RGB palettes, single/dual firing modes and fractional portal dimensions from 1 to 5 blocks. Settings are stored on the item; older gun variants remain compatible.
- Added Mel's portal gun with animated claws, carrying effects and support for the existing portal, pickup, zoom and pedestal controls.
- Added animated PotatOS attachments for guns named Potato, with 28 voice lines and protection against overlapping speech during rapid item swaps.
- Enabled portal and TAG shots in Adventure mode while keeping map blocks protected from pickup. Physical props remain carryable.
- Restricted gun and chamber-device configuration to Creative mode. Fixed alternate right-click configuration while flying.
- Added TAG Gun support to pedestals, preserving tank settings and allowing timed or redstone-controlled firing.
- Made Long Fall Boots unbreakable, including existing pairs.
Chamber construction and mechanisms
- Added 3×3 floor buttons while preserving existing 2×2 installations. Improved button colors, placement, socket skins and press/release sounds.
- Added pedestal buttons with timed and permanent one-press modes, an author reset and ticking audio.
- Added animated 3×3 chamber doors with obstruction protection. Corrected their proportions, frames, collision and sounds.
- Added paired redstone portal emitters for floor, wall and ceiling placement. Corrected mounting depth and migrated older floating endpoints.
- Added 2×2 lift platforms, piston lifts and configurable ARM panels with adjustable movement, endpoint angles, speed, delays and redstone control.
- Added light-rail routes with ordered waypoints, diagonal and sloped sections, loops and reverse travel. Existing paired rails remain supported.
- Improved moving-platform passenger handling, including descending motion, reversals and custom gravity. Platforms carry players and physical props and stop at obstructions.
- Added floor, wall and ceiling mounting for large buttons, pedestal buttons, Faith Plates, ARM panels and piston lifts.
- Extended Indicator Lights to connect multiple branches and devices with bidirectional power. Fixed feedback-related piston oscillation.
- Added modular vacuum tubes with straight sections, bends, junctions and connectors for transporting players, mobs, items and physics props.
- Added tracking security cameras, chamber signs with selectable hazard icons, and a laboratory monitor with adjustable pan/tilt and still-image selection.
- Added the Test Chamber Elevator with animated doors, passenger transport, obstacle checks, redstone controls and sounds.
- Added a Test Chamber world preset with a customizable, lit starting room inside a solid non-portal world.
Portal lasers and cubes
- Added realistic laser emitters, catchers, pass-through relays and a green-lensed Reflection Cube directly to Portal Gun. These devices use the shared laser controls and do not require the separate Lasers addon.
- Connected the Reflection Cube's magnifying lenses to optical settings, physics, portal transport and droppers.
- Corrected the cube's output to use its small lens. While carried, the output follows the player's aim and points away from the player.
- Added glowing energy cores and activation, loop and shutdown sounds to active receivers. Relays rotate their front assembly while the mounting plate stays fixed; catchers remain stationary.
- Corrected laser-device scale and orientation in inventory slots and both hands.
- Removed redundant centered variants from creative menus and crafting. Their legacy IDs still load in existing worlds and use the canonical models and drops.
- Added a dropper mode that dissolves its existing output and dispenses a replacement when signaled. Recall records also handle unloaded outputs without creating duplicates.
Props, turrets and characters
- Added the Weighted Storage Cube and expanded Default model options for cubes, spheres, Faith Plates, droppers and field emitters. Updated the realistic Companion Cube and sphere meshes.
- Added physical Frankenturrets with hopping, retraction, carrying, button, gel, dropper and portal interactions, plus Default and Realistic appearances.
- Added the passive Turret Wife, a portable Wheatley core, and ceiling-mounted GLaDOS and Wheatley boss assemblies with animation, tracking and voice lines.
- Improved GLaDOS and Wheatley boss tracking so their bodies turn smoothly with their heads. Updated their size, mounting and model-shaped collision.
- Added selectable Chell, Atlas, P-Body, Bendy and Mel player models with synchronized movement, crouching, aiming and held-item poses. Corrected mirrored rendering, grip and item scale.
- Refined turret combat: upright turrets survive ordinary damage and hard landings, while tipping or blue gel shuts them down. Carried turrets stop firing.
- Added defective-turret dialogue and reworked Oracle Turret speech. Oracle dialogue plays while carried, resumes saved progress and stays finished after the last line; each pickup still receives a thank-you. Oracle turrets remain active after tipping, gel, damage or emancipation.
- Laser hits now set physical turrets alight before a delayed visual explosion, without damaging the chamber or starting block fires.
Turret assembly machine
- Added a decorative 3×3×3 turret factory with animated robot arms, welders and conveyor. The model keeps its original proportions.
- Added pause/resume plus manual, powered and inverted control through redstone or Indicator Lights. Animation position is saved with the world.
- Added assembly sounds synchronized with the animation and a persistent per-machine sound toggle.
- Corrected the open front and non-portal casing panels, along with inventory and held-item presentation.
- Used shared GPU geometry and GPU animation, with a CPU fallback. The machine is decorative and does not manufacture turret entities.
Experimental time travel
- Added a separate triple portal gun for the optional two-era mode in Justify Test Chambers: blue/orange portals plus a green rectangular time portal. Press R to open the time pair or Shift + R to close it.
- Added one-way authoring changes inside linked chamber bounds: construction, removal, orientation and device settings in the present propagate to the future. Future edits do not affect the present; runtime redstone signals remain independent.
- Ordinary portal placements in the present update their corresponding future endpoints. Future placements stay independent.
- Added persistent future identities for supported cubes. Moving an original dissolves its future copy and creates a replacement after the original comes to rest. Conflicting carried copies are released safely, and originals taken into the future dissolve.
- Preserved timeline state through saving, chamber export and replay. Fixed disappearing room views and missing remote emancipation effects during time-portal traversal.
This mode is opt-in and experimental. It operates within the generated chamber bounds, reuses existing gun/cube models and does not rewind world history or automatically age rooms. Painted gel overlays are not copied. Each chamber supports up to 128 linked original cubes and 64 temporal gun channels.
Visual fixes and Minecraft 26.2
- Improved Default models, Faith Plate glass, realistic gel materials, smooth shading and inventory framing. Fixed the Faith Plate black-screen issue with Oculus installed and shader packs disabled on older Minecraft versions.
- Added GPU skinning and earlier visibility checks for large animated models. Improved portal terrain retention with Embeddium/Sodium and through repeated crossings.
- Added a Java 25 universal build for Minecraft 26.2 on Fabric and NeoForge, including NeoForge 26.2.0.88 compatibility.
- Migrated model animation, portal views, optical effects and item previews to the new rendering APIs while preserving the existing assets. OpenGL and Vulkan paths are covered.
- Fixed 26.2 item names in English and Russian, restored the chamber door's blue lighting, and corrected laser settings backgrounds and transparent/emissive rendering.
- Updated player appearance synchronization and portal movement validation for 26.2, including exit velocity and rubber-banding fixes.
Compatibility notes
- Requires the matching version of Justify API. The chamber editor and experimental two-era setup additionally require Justify Test Chambers.
- Beta.129 targets Minecraft 26.2; Minecraft 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 retain separate Beta.127 builds. Install matching Justify versions on clients and servers.
- On 26.2, use Java 25 and Fabric with Fabric API, or NeoForge. Shader checks cover Iris 1.11.4, Sodium 0.9.2 and Complementary Reimagined r5.8.1 in OpenGL. Kappa 5.3 can still produce excessive bloom on large models.
