Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Foils stay foils in decks and duels
- Deck boxes keep rarities: a foil put into a deck used to come back out of it as a common, because the deck box only remembered the card. Deck boxes now remember each copy's rarity, and it goes back into the binder as it came.
- The deck editor shows them: your cards and the deck list show each rarity on its own, with its foil and short name (StR, ScR, UR...), as in the binder. Click the copy you want; importing a YDK list takes your best copies.
- The duel shows them too: the foil copies of your deck shine in your hand, in the card panel, in the card windows and on the field (Field Spells, face-up Spells and Traps, monsters shown as cards, the top of the Graveyard). Each copy keeps its own rarity wherever it goes, also in tag duels.
- An ante card keeps its rarity as well.
Boss monster per deck
- Mark your deck's boss: right-click a monster in the deck box's deck list to make it the deck's boss monster. It gets a gold frame and a crown, and its name shows in the deck box's tooltip. Right-click it again to unmark it; taking its last copy out of the deck unmarks it too.
- Only the boss gets the ace shot: in a duel, a deck with a boss gives the ace camera's shot to that monster only (alternate artworks included), for both duelists and onlookers, instead of every Level 7+, Extra Deck or 2500+ ATK monster. Decks without a boss (NPCs, bots, starter decks) keep the old rules. A locked tournament deck keeps its boss.
Where each card is, in every card pick
- The cards in a pick window (deck searches, Monster Reborn, materials, the Extra Deck or Graveyard picker...) carry a strip along their bottom saying where the card is now and whose it is, such as "Your Deck", "Your GY" or "Opp. Field": blue for yours, red for your opponent's. Hovering a card names the place in full ("In your opponent's Graveyard").
Duel log names more cards
- Cards added from the GY or banishment are named: "Steve added Monster Reborn from their GY to their hand", for everyone, since the card was public. A card that was banished face down stays "a card" for the opponent.
- Set cards say where they came from: "You Set Trap Hole from your Deck in the Spell & Trap Zone". You see the name of every card you Set; the opponent sees it if it came from the GY or face-up banishment, or if they were shown it before (Lilith, Lady of Lament). A card Set straight from the Deck otherwise stays secret, as in the real game.
- A monster Special Summoned face down no longer gives its name away to the opponent.
Missing products
- Power-Up Packs can be opened: the Super Starter Power-Up Pack, the Space-Time Showdown Power-Up Pack and the Noble Knights of the Round Table Power-Up Pack were too small to count as a set, so no shop sold them and no progression step unlocked them. They are packs of five now: the Super Starter one with an Ultra Rare and two Super Rares, the Space-Time Showdown one with an Ultra Rare, the Noble Knights one all Platinum Rares.
- Duelist's Advance has all 100 cards: it used to have only its 48 monsters, so it had no Spells, Traps or Link Monsters and opened as a small 5-card pack. Its other 52 cards are in now, and it opens as the 9-card core booster it is. Cards that came out first in Duelist's Advance (Trap Holic, Parallel Teleport, the R.B. cards...) now unlock with it, not later or only once everything is unlocked.
Sets come out on their release date (Tycoon Calendar)
- Tycoon Calendar support (optional): with Tycoon Calendar installed, sets in a progression world come out when the world's calendar reaches their real TCG release date, in place of
daysPerSet. A calendar that starts in, say, 2006 unlocks everything up to then as soon as its start date is settled; setting the calendar back takes nothing away. Without the mod nothing changes. - Own release dates:
/jadm progression date <set> <YYYY-MM-DD>gives a set another release date (resetbrings back the real one;/jadm progression datelists them). Sets unlock in the order of their dates, with the calendar and withdaysPerSet;/jadm progression listmarks moved dates with*. The world keeps the date it had reached, so a set moved before it unlocks and one moved past it locks again. /jadm progression statussays when the next set comes out by the calendar.
New settings at a glance
- Server (
serverconfig/jadm-server.toml):[progression] calendar(default true, only matters with Tycoon Calendar installed) and[progression] releaseDates(filled by/jadm progression date).
Field Spell looks from resource packs
- Add your own Field Spell looks: every Field Spell arena look (Umi floods the field, Yami covers it in shadow, Sogen grows grass...) is now a JSON file. A resource pack can give more Field Spells their own land: ground tiles, plants, rocks and mountain peaks, waves, wind, a glowing edge, particles and sounds. Textures and sounds can come from vanilla, from other mods or from the pack itself.
- Change the built-in ones: the mod's 14 looks are such files too. A pack that ships a file with the same name (for example
assets/jadm/jadm/field_spells/umi.json) replaces the built-in look; a look in any other namespace that names the same card wins over it as well. - Where the files go:
assets/<namespace>/jadm/field_spells/<name>.jsonin a resource pack. Turn the pack on in Options > Resource Packs; F3+T reloads the looks without restarting. A broken file is skipped and the game log says why. - How to write one: the format is explained in
docs/field-spell-looks.mdon GitHub and in the Duelist's Handbook.docs/examples/field-spell-packis a complete example pack: a new neon look for Dark City with its own texture, and a red Umi that replaces the built-in one. - Nothing changes in-game without a pack: the built-in looks look exactly as before, and the client setting
fieldSpellArenastill turns them all off.
