# Just Another Dueling Mod 1.2.7: patch notes
What changed since 1.2.6. Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1. Servers need the new jar as well as players.
### Genesys format and official banlists
- **Genesys:** `banlist = "genesys"` (or `/jadm banlist use genesys`) plays the Genesys format with Konami's current
point list: no Forbidden & Limited List, but a deck's cards (main, extra and side deck together) may cost at most
`genesysPointCap` points (100, the standard), and Link and Pendulum monsters aren't allowed. Duels then use the new
`genesys` ruleset: today's rules on the original field, without Extra Monster Zones or Pendulum Zones
(`ruleset = "auto"` picks it by itself). `genesys-ocg` is the OCG's point list. The deck box shows the deck's
points next to the main deck count, cards show their points in the top left corner and in the tooltip, and NPC
decks stay within the cap. Tournaments can set `banlist` to `genesys` and their own `genesysPointCap`.
- **More official lists:** `banlist` can also be `tcg` (the newest TCG list), `ocg`, `traditional`, `worlds` or
`master-duel`. A file in `config/jadm/banlists/` of the same name still wins. A custom Genesys list is a file with
`"points"` and `"pointCap"`.
- **`/jadm banlist update`** (operators) downloads the newest official lists (TCG, OCG, Traditional and Worlds from
Project Ignis, Master Duel and the Genesys points from Konami via yaml-yugi-limit-regulation) and uses them at once,
without a restart; players' deck boxes get them too. A newer TCG list also becomes the current list in progression
and all-cards worlds. A list whose download fails keeps the one it had. The lists are kept in
`config/jadm/official_banlists.json`; `/jadm banlist reset` goes back to the bundled ones. `/jadm banlist` shows
which list the server plays with and what each official list is.
- The bundled TCG history now ends with the September 2026 list.
### Daily and weekly quests
- **Quests:** every player gets 3 daily and 2 weekly quests, such as "Win 2 duels with a Dragon deck", "Fusion
Summon 2 monsters", "Deal 10000 damage", "Beat another player" or "Take part in a tournament". They bring Duel
Points and booster packs (or emeralds, experience and any other item, as the server likes).
- **Quest window** with the key U or `/jadm quests`: progress bars, the reward of each quest, a time until new
quests come, **Claim** / **Claim all**, and **Reroll** to swap an unfinished quest for another (once a day).
A pop-up in the corner shows when a quest moves on; chat says when one is done, with a button for the window.
Rewards you forget to claim are handed out when the quests are replaced.
- Quests count duel wins and finished duels (filtered by opponent: players, NPC duelists or bots; ranked;
tournament; a deck theme by monster type, attribute, name or a card in the deck; life points left; turns),
summons by kind (Normal, Special, Fusion, Ritual, Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum, Link), damage dealt, activated Spells,
Traps or effects, opened booster packs, finished trades and tournament places.
- **Free to set up:** the quests live in `config/jadm/quests.json`, written with a starting pool of 38 quests
(English and German titles) on first start. Add, change or remove quests, their goals, weights and rewards, then
`/jadm quests reload`. Quests for Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum and Link only come once those cards are out in a
progression world (`unlockedBy`).
- New `[quests]` server settings: `enabled`, `daily`, `weekly`, `sameForEveryone` (everyone gets the same quests,
no rerolls), `rerollsPerDay`, `resetHour`, `weeklyResetDay`, `minTurns` (duels count once they reach turn 3, so
forfeiting right away doesn't play quests off), `botDuels` and `announceWeekly`.
- Operators: `/jadm quests list`, `/jadm quests reset <player>` and `/jadm quests complete <player> <quest>`.
- The Duelist's Handbook explains quests in "Shops and Duel Points", with the key, commands and settings.
### Bounties
- `/jadm bounty place <player> <amount>` puts Duel Points on someone's head. The DP are taken right away (plus a
10% fee by default) and kept until someone collects them. Bounties from several players on the same player add
up; nobody can put one on themselves.
- Whoever beats that player in a duel collects the whole bounty, shown on the result screen and announced in chat; a
winning tag team shares it. Only duels between people count (no bots or NPCs), and the duel has to reach turn 3,
so a player can't hand their own bounty to a friend by giving up at once.
- `/jadm bounty` lists the biggest bounties, `/jadm bounty <player>` who put up what. The player list (Tab) shows the
bounty after each name, a duel invitation names the bounty on the opponent, and a player with a bounty is told on
login.
- `/jadm bounty withdraw <player>` takes your part back (not while that player is dueling; the fee stays paid).
Operators call a bounty off with `/jadm bounty clear <player>`, which pays everyone back.
- New `[bounty]` server settings: `enabled`, `minAmount` (100), `feePercent` (10), `minTurns` (3), `withdraw`,
`announce` and `showInTabList`. The Duelist's Handbook explains it under Shops and Duel Points.
### Pulled cards go into your binder
- Carry a binder and the cards of an opened booster pack go straight into it (with their rarity) instead of the
inventory; the pack window says so. A tin's promo card does too, as structure decks already did. With several
binders the first one in the inventory takes them; without one the cards land in the inventory as before. Draft and
Sealed packs are unchanged. Turn it off with `packsIntoBinder` in the server config.
### Revealed cards in the duel log
- When an effect reveals cards (Lilith, Lady of Lament showing 3 Normal Traps from the Deck, the Enneacraft monsters
revealing themselves from the hand, any "reveal" cost), the duel log now names them for both duelists: "You revealed
X, Y, Z from your Deck to Steve" and "Alex revealed X, Y, Z from their Deck to you". Before, only the player shown
the cards got a line, and the revealing player got none. Spectators see how many cards were revealed.
- Revealing the top of a Deck ("excavate") is named for everyone, not just the Deck's owner.
- A card revealed from the Deck and then added to the hand is named in the opponent's log ("Alex added X to their
hand") instead of "a card".
### Fix: Packs of sets without commons, and missing Ultra Rares
- **Ultra Rares were missing:** YGOPRODeck lists many cards in several rarities per set, and the first one listed
counted. Phantom Nightmare, Legacy of Destruction, The Infinite Forbidden, Rage of the Abyss, Supreme Darkness,
Alliance Insight, Doom of Dimensions, Burst Protocol, Blazing Dominion, Duelist Nexus and Age of Overlord listed every
Ultra Rare as its Quarter Century Secret Rare first, so their packs never held an Ultra Rare; Toon Chaos, King's
Court, Maze of Memories, Justice Hunters and others were short of them too. A card now counts as its plainest
printing and also comes in each better one from that slot: an Ultra Rare from the ultra slot, its Quarter Century
Secret Rare from the secret slot. The Set Collection Book names every rarity a card was printed in.
- **Fixed:** a Maze of Millennia or Justice Hunters pack held the same card seven times. These sets list a single
common among their rares, and all seven common slots rolled it. A set's plain slots now take its base rarity (rare
for these), and a stray lower listing counts as that rarity.
- **Real pack formats:** sets without commons open as seven cards, six rares and a foil (the Maze sets, Toon Chaos,
King's Court, Justice Hunters...), or five cards, four Super Rares and a Secret Rare (The Secret Forces, Hidden
Summoners, Fists of the Gadgets...). Before, their "common" slots drew from the whole set. Both cost a premium pack
in the card shop.
### KubeJS scripting (for server owners)
- With [KubeJS](https://modrinth.com/mod/kubejs) installed, server scripts can react to the mod: `JadmEvents.duelStart`
(cancel a duel), `duelEnd` (winners, losers, life points, extra lines on the result screen), `packOpened` (change
the pulled cards), `tournamentEnd`, `rankChanged` and `setCompleted`. `Jadm` helpers make cards and packs, read card
data and give or take Duel Points. See docs/kubejs.md in the mod's repository.
- The same events are NeoForge events for other mods
