What's new

IronAgeFurniture 0.4.0.110021 (unreleased)

Phase 4 candidate for Minecraft 1.10.2 and Forge 12.18.3.2511. The update feed continues to advertise the published 0.3.0.110021 release.

  • Add colour-preserving multiblock wooden and canopy beds, wingback chairs, and thrones. Untagged old items and placed furniture retain red upholstery. Register the wingback and throne upgrade recipes explicitly for each available wood, and validate their crafting results for all carpet colours.
  • Make shield chairs removable and reattachable while preserving the complete vanilla shield item, including damage, banner design, enchantments, and name. Existing untagged chairs still contain a plain shield.
  • Add twin-torch sconces, standalone and sconce-mounted candles, optional Mineralogy rock-salt sconces, and gold/Base Metals sconce materials. Existing iron IDs and facing metadata remain stable; missing metal data means iron.
  • Give a carried candle a small animated flame and occasional smoke. The effect is visual only and does not need OptiFine; OptiFine's Dynamic Lights can also illuminate the surroundings while the candle is held.
  • Release wall-sconce lava lamps on a redstone signal when air lies below. Released lamps land intact in Creative, but shatter and ignite in other modes.
  • Expand to 17 locale choices, preserving Phase 3 labels and using English fallback where the older 1.0 translations lack newer padded-bench names. Include the colour labels used by upholstered furniture item names in every locale so crafted variants do not display raw translation keys.
  • Add six CFM wooden-chair conversion recipes, a default-off forced-conversion option, and missing block/item recovery even when CFM is absent. The latter retains old numeric chair IDs for unopened chunks across restarts without remapping them onto already-registered IAF IDs in Forge 1.10.
  • Fix forced CFM conversion for chairs stored in chests and other block inventories, and include chairs inside carried containers when a player joins.
  • Keep CFM, Mineralogy, and Base Metals optional at runtime.
  • Show Base Metals sconce variants only when the installed Base Metals build supplies their block textures. Older 1.10 builds do not include Antimony, Bismuth, or Pewter, so those variants no longer appear untextured.
  • Give metal sconces a sturdier mining hardness and make their blast resistance follow the metal. Fix mined and picked sconces reverting to iron rather than retaining the metal they were made from.
  • Keep the chosen upholstery colour when either padded bench type is mined, including benches joined to differently coloured neighbours.
  • Restore Cold-Iron and Star-Steel sconce recipes by using the nugget names registered by Base Metals.

IronAgeFurniture 0.3.0.110021

Phase 3 lighting release for Minecraft 1.10.2 and Forge 12.18.3.2511.

Player-visible changes

  • Add the Phase 3 lighting set: empty, torch, unlit-torch, redstone-torch, glow, lava, and redstone lamps and sconces, obsidian chunks, and hidden redstone-light states.
  • Restore throwable lava lamps. Thrown and falling lamps shatter with a glass sound, ignite dry landing positions, damage struck entities, and become an obsidian chunk on contact with water.
  • Render thrown lava lamps with their translucent lava-lamp item model instead of the unbound grey projectile fallback.
  • Let placed lava lamps melt ordinary ice directly beneath them. Other ice variants are intentionally unaffected.
  • Correct falling-lamp handling, survival and Creative drops, and redstone transitions.
  • Keep internal lamp and sconce state blocks out of the creative inventory; only the player-placeable base items have item forms.
  • Give ordinary wooden furniture normal wood flammability.
  • Add all sixteen carpet colours to padded benches and padded back benches without adding registry IDs. Existing benches remain red, every segment in a connected mixed-colour run retains its own upholstery, and colours survive placement, drops, pick block, shape changes, and reloads.
  • Use the vanilla wool textures for padded upholstery, allowing compatible resource packs to change the fabric used by benches.
  • Select padded bench inventory models from item metadata during model baking, so every coloured subtype renders with its matching upholstery in GUIs.
  • Preserve upholstery choices on crafted, Creative, dropped, picked, and copied benches, including compatibility data for future Minecraft upgrades.
  • Register Biomes O' Plenty, Natura, Forestry, and Immersive Engineering furniture and Java recipes only when the relevant optional mod is loaded. Minecraft 1.10.2 does not use recipe advancements.

Compatibility and development

  • Preserve all surviving ironagefurniture registry, resource, configuration, entity, NBT, and saved-world identities from Phase 2.
  • Move the supported Java namespace to zone.moddev.mc.ironagefurniture and publish as zone.moddev.mc:iron-age-furniture:0.3.0.110021.
  • Modernize the build to ForgeGradle 7.0.34 and Gradle 9.6.1, pin Java 17 for Gradle in CI, and use a Temurin Java 8 compiler while allowing Eclipse to run Buildship on newer JVMs and use newer Java 8 patches.
  • Add a deterministic furniture catalog and optional-integration checks.
  • Produce reproducible main, sources, and Javadoc jars with SHA-256 checksums.
  • Provide reproducible Eclipse/Buildship project metadata for contributors.
