Ok i tested it really fast and indeed you can use it only on server, the only "bug" or downside is that you can still toggle empty item frames invisible.
i've given up on doing manual ports to forge since it's effort for something that shouldn't need any.
ports will be released when forgery gets updated (or in the astronomical chance something like lite loader comes along)
Dear Developer, Can this mod be available for 1.12.2 plz because I play 1.12.2 modded survival and I have a build called the spruce mansion i wanna build to call home in the mega taigas and one of the required materials are invisible item frames. Would love for this mod to be downgraded to 1.12.2 because finding mods like these for 1.12.2 is very hard and i don't wanna resort to resource packs because they tend to lag my game like uber crazy. I Needed an actual mod available for 1.12.2 that can add invisible item frames
the config option "Should client always make frames with items invisible" doesn't work for me (fabric 1.18.1). I still have to manually shift-click item frames after I put items inside of them.
edit: and this is on a server without the mod
edit2: probably should've put this on the github page instead. posting it there

is it for forge because forge is what i use for mods if yes then thank you for making my day with this mod :)
Lite loader mods are compatible with forge so you just need to install both mod loaders and everything should work

Does this somehow alleviate the FPS drop caused by item frames?
it doesn't add any special optimizations if that's what you mean.
although it should be slightly better as well... the frames wont render
