Welcome adventurers! This is the Maelstrom Mod, a work-in-progress adventure RPG. If you enjoy journeying into unknown worlds and dungeons while testing the limits of your combat, this mod is aimed to provide just that.
Features:
- 4 Dimensions
- Gigantic Structures
- Tactical Multistage Boss Fights
- Lightweight storyline
To enter the first dimension:
Unlike most adventure mods, you don't get to invade, this time, you will be invaded first!
Modpack Developers:
At this point, this mod has not been tested enough for me to say that it is modpack ready. This goes especially for the server. Be careful and test thoroughly if you decide to include it. Of course, I'm willing to work with you to get your modpack working!
That said, this mod attempts to provide a lot of powerful configuration options that should let this mod fit into any modpack and not unbalance it too much.
Words of warning:
This mod is experimental and intentionally will destroy part of the world when placing the invasion tower. It's designed to avoid player spawn points, but you can still expect some property damage. A harmless invasion isn't really an invasion after all!
Suggestions:
If you have suggestions, don't hesitate to add a comment or create an issue in the issue tracker.
Wiki:
The wiki currently provides a few brief guides on the mod.

Make a discord server I wanna discuss this amazing mod with others!
In reply to finalsi:
I will do this eventually if it really becomes essential, but I'm too lazy/busy to maintain a discord right now lol
I looked at the roadmap. it implies that this mod won't be updated in it's current form and the dimensions may not come to later versions of minecraft. is that the case?
In reply to mingcming:
Yes, that is correct. As of now, I am only aiming to update some of the mobs/bosses.
In reply to Barribob:
that's a shame.
How to use the key of the abandoned?
In reply to makstalinax:
That is the end of the mod, at least for this version - it's just a keepsake.
Is this mod incompatible with biome bundle? I tried it on a backup world and some of the biomes changed to other biome bundle biomes
In reply to pj2346:
I don't remember anything like that happening, but I can take a look at it at some point. What version of biome bundle are you using?
In reply to Barribob:
1.12.2-v6.1
In reply to Barribob:
I've had a look around and some of the biomes have changed to "cliff swamp" or "fracture" which I think are from this mod. Some areas have also changed to "sakura forest" which is a biome bundle biome
In reply to Barribob:
I think it may be due to Biome ID conflicts and the fact that I added the mod to the world after it had been generated already. I asked about this in the OTG discord and they said not to add mods to an already-made world unless it just adds items.
In reply to pj2346:
Yeah, that looks like what happened - I can replicate what happens, and it also logs it. Basically, when you add a mod that adds new biomes, the biome ids will most likely conflict. If there is a conflict, then whatever biome got registered first takes priority, so that's why you're seeing that. If OTG says not to add, then I'm guessing that any mod that adds biomes may cause problems, unfortunately.
Combining this mod with techguns and some dash ability mode = Doom Eternal 8 bit
In reply to YANexus:
Looks really fun - especially with the dash ability.
hi i have a problem I am using a third party mod that spawns it own mobs in maelstorm dimensions.
This mod requires biome IDs in format for example: "aoa3:celeve" to prevent its mobs from spawning
I have not found maelstorm dimensions biome IDs anywhere
Is there any way to get it?
In reply to YANexus:
Try these. My mod's prefix is 'mm', so it's probably going to be something like "mm:azure".
In reply to Barribob:
Many thx
I hope this mod gets more recognition, i stumbled upon a review of it in a whole other language cuz there's none in english and it looks very high quality so far.
Would it be possible to get a config option to choose which dimension the invasion occurs in and also possibly be able to occur in multiple dimensions? I'm putting together a multi-dimension server and I want to use this mod but I'd like to have the invasion occur in a different and perhaps multiple dimensions.
