Immersive Chests

Immersive Chests is a client-side mod that moves the camera when opening containers to create a more immersive perspective.

Instead of opening GUIs from a static viewpoint, the camera dynamically repositions and orients itself relative to the block you are interacting with — creating a more grounded, spatial, and immersive experience.

This mod focuses on correct spatial behaviour, ensuring that every interaction feels intentional, stable, and visually consistent.

What it does

When you interact with a container or workstation:

The camera moves into position relative to the block It aligns itself with the block’s orientation It adjusts its offset and tilt based on context

The result is a natural viewpoint that feels like you are actually engaging with the block, rather than opening a floating UI.

Technical Design

This mod is built around a resolver pipeline, separating camera logic into clear stages:

Performance Impact

Immersive Chests is designed to have minimal performance impact.

Only runs when interacting with supported blocks No background processing or continuous updates No impact on world rendering, AI, or gameplay systems

All camera logic is calculated on interaction, keeping runtime overhead low.
