Immersive Apotheosis

Immersive Apotheosis overhauls the processes involving upgrading, refining and salvaging gear in Apotheosis to be more engaging and immersive, complete with challenging mini-games.

Immersive Apotheosis

Immersive Apotheosis turns some of Apotheosis's most important crafting actions into hands-on processes while connecting Apotheosis to the wider Immersive series.

Instead of simply pressing a button and immediately receiving the result, reforging, salvaging, socketing gems, and cutting gems become short interactive crafting sequences. Your accuracy, timing, pressure, positioning, and control affect how well the work turns out.

Apotheosis still decides what can roll, what materials are required, what affixes are available, and how powerful an item is allowed to become. Immersive Apotheosis adds the craftsmanship that happens between choosing an action and receiving the result.

The goal is simple: powerful equipment should feel like something you actually worked on.

What Immersive Apotheosis Adds

Immersive Apotheosis focuses on four major areas:

  • Hands-on versions of Apotheosis reforging, salvaging, socketing, and gem cutting
  • Better rewards for high-quality player-made equipment from the Immersive series
  • Full Apotheosis affix and gem support for Immersive Jewelry
  • Compatibility rules that make Apotheosis, Immersive Smithing, Immersive Tanning, and Immersive Jewelry feel like parts of the same crafting system

It does not replace Apotheosis or create a separate progression system. Apotheosis remains the source of affixes, gems, rarity, reforging rules, costs, and rewards.

Immersive Apotheosis changes how you perform the work.

Hands-On Apotheosis Stations

The mod uses Apotheosis's existing stations and interfaces. No replacement progression path is required.

When you commit to a supported action, a guided workbench appears over the station. The item remains tied to the original Apotheosis process while you perform the work.

Each process has its own tools, objectives, visual targets, and mistakes to avoid.

Controls

During a crafting performance:

  • Left Mouse Button uses the primary tool
  • Right Mouse Button uses the contextual or secondary action
  • Space can be used as an alternative primary input
  • Left Shift can be used as an alternative secondary input
  • Controls can be rebound under Options > Controls > Immersive Apotheosis
  • Release the tool when you need to reposition, cool a surface, correct alignment, or stop applying pressure

Before the process begins, there is a short three-second preparation period.

Pressing Esc during this preparation cancels the action for free.

Once the work has begun, pressing Esc once asks you to confirm that you want to abandon the job. Pressing it again abandons the work and applies the relevant failure or abandonment rules.

Most normal work is designed to take around 20 to 40 seconds, with up to 60 seconds available for corrections and more difficult operations.

Salvaging

Apotheosis salvaging becomes a physical dismantling process.

Instead of instantly breaking an item down, you work across the item to separate its magical bindings and recover its useful components.

The basic flow is:

  1. Follow the marked seams with the cutting tool
  2. Sever the bindings holding the components in place
  3. Grab each exposed component
  4. Pull it along the indicated extraction path
  5. Recover as much material as possible without damaging the work

Poor cutting, pulling in the wrong direction, trying to extract something that is still attached, or placing too much strain on the item lowers the quality of the salvage.

Your score determines how much you recover, but the result always stays inside Apotheosis's original salvage range.

A mediocre attempt cannot magically create more resources than Apotheosis allows, and a perfect attempt cannot exceed Apotheosis's normal maximum.

Small salvage jobs remain instant by default so trivial dismantling does not become busywork.

Salvaging Results

Higher quality means more recovered material.

At roughly the middle successful range, you can expect around the normal average output. A perfect salvage reaches the maximum output Apotheosis already permits.

If you abandon a salvage after it has started, the item is salvaged hastily and only the minimum output is recovered.

Gem Socketing

Socketing a gem is no longer just an instant insertion.

You must physically seat and secure the gem.

The process includes:

  1. Positioning the gem over the socket
  2. Rotating it until its alignment matches the setting
  3. Seating it correctly
  4. Bending the surrounding retainers into place
  5. Keeping the pressure balanced so the gem stays centered

The retainers are meant to be worked in opposing order. Too little pressure leaves the setting incomplete, while excessive pressure can reduce the quality of the attempt.

You can release and correct insufficient pressure before continuing.

A successful setting installs the gem exactly as Apotheosis normally would.

If the setting fails, the gem is returned untouched by default.

Servers can optionally configure failed socketing to damage the item, but the default durability penalty is zero.

Gem Cutting

Gem upgrades become an actual lapidary process.

To improve a gem, you work through its facets using the Gem Cutting Table.

The process includes:

  1. Rotating a facet into alignment
  2. Bringing it to the cutting wheel
  3. Grinding it toward the required depth
  4. Releasing before you overcut the surface
  5. Managing heat between grinding passes
  6. Polishing the finished facets

Cutting too deeply damages the quality of the work. Allowing the gem to become too hot also hurts the result.

Good gem cutting is about controlled contact rather than simply holding the tool down.

Apotheosis still decides which gems can be upgraded and what materials are required.

Gem Cutting Results

A Stable result or better completes Apotheosis's normal gem upgrade.

A Perfect result refunds part of the Gem Dust used for the operation. The default refund is 50% of the Gem Dust cost.

If the cut fails, both gems survive. By default, the Gem Dust and other upgrade materials are still consumed.

Server owners can change which materials a failed cut consumes.

Reforging

Reforging becomes a three-part magical smithing process.

The affix choice still comes from Apotheosis. Your job is to properly bind that result to the item.

The process includes:

  1. Heating the magical bindings
  2. Striking their anchor points with the runic hammer
  3. Following the final sealing pattern to lock the reforge into place

Each strike must be aimed, charged, and released with suitable force.

The bindings also need to remain within a useful heat range. If the work becomes too cold, you may need to reheat it before continuing.

After the anchors are prepared, the final magical channels must be traced correctly to seal the result.

This process works for more than metal equipment. The reforging represents magical bindings, so the same system can be used for armor, weapons, tools, jewelry, and other equipment supported by Apotheosis.

Reforging Results

A strong performance preserves the selected Apotheosis roll.

Lower successful results can keep the same rolled affixes but reduce how strongly those affixes land.

By default:

  • Stable or better keeps the selected roll
  • Frayed keeps the roll at reduced strength
  • Weak keeps the roll at a greater reduction
  • Failed or Shattered does not apply the selected result and causes the available choices to be rolled again

A failed reforge consumes Gem Dust and experience levels by default while keeping the rarity materials.

Server owners can make failed reforges consume the full cost, use the default partial cost, or cost nothing.

Craftsmanship Quality

Every performed station is scored from 0 to 100.

Your score falls into one of six quality bands:

Score Result
90 to 100 Perfect
80 to 89 Stable
65 to 79 Frayed
50 to 64 Weak
35 to 49 Failed
Below 35 Shattered

Different stations use these bands differently.

For example, a weaker salvage can still recover something, while a gem upgrade requires a Stable result or better. Reforging can preserve a roll at reduced strength if the work is Frayed or Weak.

Important stages cannot simply be skipped. An unfinished setting, gem cut, or reforge cannot receive a successful result just because the player performed well during an earlier part of the process.

Mistakes during these performances affect the attempt's score. They do not permanently add hidden defects to your item.

Master Craftsmanship Earns Sockets

When the relevant Immersive mods are installed, high-quality player-made equipment is guaranteed room for gems.

By default:

Craft Quality Minimum Sockets
Fine 1
Masterwork 2

This applies to qualifying player-made work from:

  • Immersive Smithing
  • Immersive Tanning
  • Immersive Jewelry

These are minimum socket floors, not bonus sockets.

If an item already has enough sockets, nothing extra is added. Apotheosis reforging and Sigils of Socketing still work normally, and the normal Apotheosis socket maximum still applies.

Only genuine player-made work qualifies.

Looted equipment and villager-made items do not receive the craftsmanship socket guarantee.

For Immersive Jewelry, both Fine and Exceptional jewelry count toward the Fine socket floor, while Masterwork receives the higher floor.

This gives carefully made equipment a meaningful advantage without allowing it to exceed Apotheosis's existing limits.

Immersive Smithing Integration

When Immersive Smithing is installed, the two systems work together rather than ignoring each other.

Player-made Fine and Masterwork smithing can receive the socket floors described above.

Immersive Apotheosis also protects socketed gems from being accidentally destroyed in the Smith's Forge.

If an item contains socketed gems, the forge refuses to melt it by default.

Remove the gems first with a Sigil of Withdrawal, then melt the equipment normally.

Affixed equipment without socketed gems can still be melted.

This protection can be disabled in the server configuration if a pack author wants different behavior.

Immersive Tanning Integration

When Immersive Tanning is installed, player-stitched leather equipment can benefit from the same craftsmanship socket system.

Immersive Apotheosis also adjusts leather-related Apotheosis salvaging so that salvage recipes which would normally produce vanilla Leather instead produce Binding Leather.

This keeps Immersive Tanning's progression intact and ensures that salvaging does not accidentally bypass its leatherworking loop.

The original Apotheosis output quantity is preserved. Only the type of leather is changed.

This behavior can be disabled in the server configuration.

Full Immersive Jewelry Support

When Immersive Jewelry is installed, jewelry becomes a full participant in Apotheosis progression.

Rings, amulets, bracelets, and circlets can:

  • Receive Apotheosis affixes
  • Be reforged
  • Hold sockets
  • Accept gems
  • Be salvaged
  • Apply their Apotheosis bonuses while worn

Each jewelry form has its own general identity.

Rings

Rings focus primarily on offensive effects such as:

  • Critical strike related bonuses
  • Life steal
  • Armor piercing
  • Combat utility
  • Offensive support effects

Amulets

Amulets lean toward defensive and survival-focused effects such as:

  • Maximum health
  • Armor
  • Healing
  • Damage reduction
  • Defensive utility

Bracelets

Bracelets focus on dexterity and active physical performance, including effects related to:

  • Draw speed
  • Arrow damage
  • Attack speed
  • Mining
  • Reach and movement-oriented utility

Circlets

Circlets lean toward mental, magical, and utility effects such as:

  • Experience
  • Reach
  • Magical attributes
  • Spell-related bonuses when compatible magic mods are present

Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks attributes are supported for appropriate circlet affixes when that mod is available.

Gems in Jewelry

Apotheosis gems work with Immersive Jewelry without requiring every gem to be rewritten specifically for jewelry.

If a gem does not define a jewelry-specific bonus, Immersive Apotheosis borrows an appropriate bonus the gem already has:

  • Rings use the gem's melee-style bonus
  • Bracelets use the gem's ranged-style bonus
  • Amulets use the gem's body armor bonus
  • Circlets use the gem's helmet bonus

This also allows gems added or changed by other mods and modpacks to remain useful with jewelry in many cases.

If a datapack gives a gem a dedicated jewelry bonus, that dedicated bonus is used instead.

Special bonuses that do not make sense for jewelry, such as durability-only or enchantment-specific bonuses, are not automatically transferred.

Jewelry Balance

Jewelry can provide several additional equipment slots, so Immersive Apotheosis includes conservative defaults to stop those slots from multiplying Apotheosis power too aggressively.

By default:

  • Worn jewelry is capped at Epic rarity for the strength of its affixes
  • Jewelry affix values are scaled to 50%
  • Socketed gem values on jewelry are scaled to 50%
  • A jewelry piece can have at most 1 socket
  • A jewelry piece can have at most 2 active affixes

These values are configurable.

Extra affixes can still appear on an item, but affixes beyond the active limit remain dormant while the piece is worn. The tooltip tells you which bonuses are active and which are dormant.

Immersive Jewelry's own equipment rules still apply.

A broken jewelry piece does nothing, and only the number of pieces allowed by Immersive Jewelry for that jewelry form can contribute effects.

This means Apotheosis enhances jewelry without bypassing the rules that make the jewelry system work.

ApothicCurios Compatibility

Immersive Apotheosis includes compatibility with ApothicCurios.

Both mods can interact with equipped curios, so special handling is included to stop jewelry affixes from being applied twice.

Immersive Jewelry remains responsible for deciding which jewelry is active, while Immersive Apotheosis contributes the appropriate Apotheosis effects through that system.

The result is intended to behave like one unified equipment system rather than two mods independently granting the same bonus.

Immersive Enchanting

Immersive Apotheosis does not take over enchanting.

Immersive Enchanting handles its own Apotheosis enchanting-table support, so the two mods do not compete for ownership of the same process.

Immersive Apotheosis is focused on the Apotheosis systems surrounding reforging, salvage, sockets, gems, and cross-mod equipment integration.

Gem Dust and Immersive Jewelry

Apotheosis Gem Dust can be used as a valid polishing dust for Immersive Jewelry.

That means Gem Dust can contribute to making Polishing Compound, connecting Apotheosis gem progression back into the jewelry crafting loop.

Designed for Multiplayer

The performed crafting systems are designed to work properly on dedicated servers.

The server determines the final result rather than trusting the client to report a score or finished item.

While a performance is active, the relevant station inventory is protected so its contents cannot be changed out from under the operation.

If the table changes unexpectedly, the operation is rejected rather than charging the wrong items.

Players and servers should run the same Immersive Apotheosis version. The performed-station input system is shared between client and server, so updating only one side can prevent the crafting sequence from working correctly.

Immersive Apotheosis is required on both the client and server.

Configuration

Immersive Apotheosis is highly configurable for modpacks and servers.

Its per-world server configuration is located at:

serverconfig/immersive_apotheosis-server.toml

The configuration is synchronized to players when they join.

Server owners can configure:

Craftsmanship Sockets

  • Enable or disable socket floors
  • Change the Fine socket floor
  • Change the Masterwork socket floor
  • Enable socket floors separately for Immersive Smithing, Immersive Tanning, and Immersive Jewelry

Immersive Smithing

  • Allow or refuse melting items that still contain socketed gems

Immersive Tanning

  • Enable or disable replacement of salvaged vanilla Leather with Binding Leather

Immersive Jewelry

  • Enable or disable Apotheosis support for jewelry
  • Enable or disable rings, amulets, bracelets, and circlets individually
  • Change the maximum effective jewelry rarity
  • Scale affix strength
  • Scale socketed gem strength
  • Change the maximum jewelry socket count
  • Change how many affixes can be active at once

Performed Stations

Each performed process can be enabled or disabled separately:

  • Salvaging
  • Socketing
  • Gem cutting
  • Reforging

If a performed process is disabled, that action returns to Apotheosis's normal instant behavior.

Servers can also configure:

  • Whether Creative players bypass the performances
  • Whether players with the bypass permission can use instant station actions
  • Crafting assistance that widens alignment, pressure, heat, and positioning tolerances
  • The extra server grace period after the normal work timer
  • The minimum salvage size before the performed salvage sequence is used
  • How strongly Frayed and Weak reforges retain their rolled affix values
  • What a failed reforge costs
  • What a failed gem cut costs
  • How much Gem Dust a Perfect gem cut refunds
  • Whether a failed socketing attempt damages the item

This allows the mod to range from a fairly forgiving immersive crafting layer to a much more demanding skill-based system.

Server and Pack Tools

Operators can use:

/immersiveapotheosis report

The report helps diagnose the current integration state, including:

  • Which Immersive bridges are active
  • Jewelry category support
  • Gem compatibility
  • ApothicCurios handling
  • Salvage recipe changes
  • Available performed stations

This is especially useful for larger modpacks where several of the optional integrations may or may not be installed.

Datapack Support

Immersive Apotheosis is designed to remain friendly to custom packs.

Jewelry affixes use normal Apotheosis data files, so modpack authors can override the included affixes or add their own.

Custom gem data can also provide direct bonuses for the Immersive Apotheosis jewelry categories.

If a gem does not provide a dedicated jewelry bonus, the automatic fallback system described above is used.

This makes it possible to customize the jewelry side of the mod without replacing its entire compatibility system.

What the Mod Does Not Do

Immersive Apotheosis is deliberately built around Apotheosis rather than above it.

It does not:

  • Replace Apotheosis's affix system
  • Add stronger rolls beyond Apotheosis's normal limits
  • Invent a second gem progression system
  • Add permanent hidden damage or defects to items because of minigame mistakes
  • Require new crafting stations for its performed Apotheosis actions
  • Force the other Immersive mods to be installed
  • Replace Immersive Enchanting's enchanting integration

The philosophy is that Apotheosis determines the magical possibility, while your craftsmanship determines how successfully you realize it.

Requirements

Required

  • Minecraft 1.20.1
  • Forge 47+
  • Apotheosis 7.4 or newer within the 7.x series
  • Placebo
  • Apothic Attributes

Apotheosis and its normal required dependencies must be installed.

Optional Integrations

Immersive Apotheosis can integrate with:

  • Immersive Smithing
  • Immersive Tanning
  • Immersive Jewelry
  • ApothicCurios
  • Curios, when used by the relevant jewelry setup

The appropriate integration only activates when its related mod is present.

Immersive Enchanting can be used alongside Immersive Apotheosis and provides its own Apotheosis enchanting-table support.

Quick Summary

If you already enjoy Apotheosis but want its equipment progression to feel more physical and connected to crafting, Immersive Apotheosis is built for that exact purpose.

You still hunt for good gear. You still chase affixes. You still collect gems, salvage equipment, spend materials, and reforge items using Apotheosis's rules.

The difference is that the final result is no longer just a button press.

You cut the gem.

You set it into the socket.

You dismantle the old equipment.

You heat and strike the magical bindings.

And when a Masterwork item comes out of one of the Immersive crafting systems, Apotheosis recognizes that craftsmanship too.

Apotheosis decides what is possible. Your skill decides how well the work lands.
