It stands behind you. It walks when you walk.
It leans in close and breathes.
Don't look. Don't say a word. Three more days.
Ignore It is a co-op horror challenge for Fabric. Every so often a tall, gaunt creature appears beside one of you, walks along, sniffs at you and leaves again. Get through the days without paying attention to it and you win. Pay attention and it hunts.
How it works
- Start a round with
/ignoreit start. From then on the creature shows up at random, stays 20 to 60 seconds and vanishes. - While it is there, three things count as noticing it: looking straight at it for about 3 seconds (a glance is fine), hitting it, or writing about it in chat ("monster", "behind you" and similar keywords).
- Whoever notices it gets hunted. Hold out for 20 seconds or get 40 blocks away and you escape. Get caught and you see a jumpscare, then you watch as a spectator or play on as a ghost.
- A new day starts at sunrise. Survive the set number of days (default 3) and the round is won. If anyone dies a normal death, or everyone is taken, it is lost for all.
- Every day is worse than the last. The last night is a finale.
Features
Round setup
- Horror-styled start menu with tabs for round, looking, encounters, hunt, toggles and chat keywords. Everything is set before the round; "save as default" remembers it. Every feature has its own toggle, and how dark it gets while it is near is a slider (0 = off).
- Three difficulties: easy, normal, nightmare. On nightmare a second creature joins from day 3. It only stares, but looking at it gets you hunted by the first.
The creature and the hunt
- It grows over the days: taller and thinner on day 2, a second pair of arms and an open ribcage from day 3.
- The hunt: a roar, a charging run, racing heartbeat, camera shake, a full-screen jumpscare.
- From day 2 it disguises itself as an armor stand, a dead tree or a scarecrow that stands closer every time you look away. It peeks around corners, stares through windows at night, hangs from cave ceilings.
- Shapeshifter: it wears the skin and name tag of a taken player and calls you over in chat.
Between visits
- Psycho events: footsteps behind you, whispers with your name, torches going out, doors opening, blackouts, fake chat from teammates (answer and you are hunted), fake jumpscares, waking up with it beside your bed.
- Sanity: a hidden value from 0 to 100 per player. Darkness and close calls raise it; sleep, candlelight and daylight lower it. High sanity brings hallucinations, glitches and a breakdown at 100.
- Fog that thickens and turns red day by day.
- Dead silence: for 15 to 25 seconds every sound is gone, even your own footsteps. The first thing you hear again is its breathing behind you.
- Tracks: dark red footprints lead from the woods to your front door. A door you closed yourself is standing open when you come back.
- The copy: one night, 60 to 100 blocks away, there is a second house. Yours. Something is lying in the bed.
- The world reacts: villagers flee, iron golems stare, village doors slam at dusk, villagers vanish at night and leave ash. Animals flee, red eyes glow in the dark, your base changes while you are away. From day 2 it builds a bone nest in a nearby cave.
Countermeasures
- Mirror block (6 glass + 1 iron ingot): when the creature stands in front of it, the mirror shows its face, cracks and glows. You know where it is without looking.
- Bells ring on their own when it is within 20 blocks. But it hears them too.
- Blindfold (black wool + string): looking no longer counts, but you see almost nothing.
- Candles keep it at a distance. Not during a hunt, and not on the last night.
- Wardrobe (5 planks + 1 wooden door): climb in during a hunt and you only see out through the gap in the door. It searches the wardrobes nearby; when it sniffs at yours, don't move and don't look at it.
- Eight diary pages from earlier victims, scattered on the ground and in the nest. The rules are in there, between the lines.
Multiplayer
- Taken players become ghosts with their own keys: whisper, footsteps, slam doors, put out lights, fake chat in another player's name.
Atmosphere
- Custom horror main menu: bloody logo, near-black panorama, the creature at the edge of the screen, buttons that shift and warn.
- Its own music for every day, all sounds synthesised. Pulsing darkness, red vignette, a heartbeat that follows its distance.
- Finale night: the lights go out, it never leaves, it hunts everyone in turn. Hiding in a small, dark, closed room helps.
- Advancements and end credits with statistics.
Optional (Simple Voice Chat)
- Voice imitation: it whispers with the distorted voices of your teammates.
- Spoken words count: offline speech recognition listens during encounters. Say a keyword and the hunt begins.

Requirements
- Minecraft 26.3
- Fabric Loader 0.20.1 or newer
- Fabric API (required)
- Java 25
- Installed on the server and on every client
Optional: Simple Voice Chat on server and clients enables voice imitation and spoken-word detection. Without it those two toggles are greyed out and everything else works as normal.
Spoken-word detection needs an offline speech model on the server (or on the host's machine): download vosk-model-small-de-0.15.zip (about 46 MB) from the Vosk model page at alphacephei.com and unzip it into config/ignore_it/. The model is not bundled with the mod. Without it the toggle stays greyed out. Note that this is a German model and the default keywords are German ("monster", "da ist was", "hinter dir" and others). The keyword list can be edited in the config and in the start menu, but recognition of other languages has not been tested. Recognition is not perfect: single words such as "Monster" are caught reliably, short phrases less so.
Spoken-word detection is experimental. In testing, the native Vosk library once failed with a memory access error (the game kept running on Windows). On a dedicated Linux server the same error could crash the server. Leave the speech model out if you need a stable server.
Privacy & online license check
Please read this before installing. The mod talks to a server run by the author.
- On game start, and then once a minute while the game is running, the mod contacts
ignoreit.crusen08yt.deand sends: your Minecraft UUID, your player name, the mod version, the Minecraft version, a flag whether this is a development client, and where you are right now (main menu, singleplayer or multiplayer). When you quit, it sends "offline". - Not sent, not stored: the license service does not store IP addresses (the web server in front of it keeps a normal access log, like any website), and the address of the Minecraft server you are playing on is never sent.
- Why: the author can see who is using the mod and can block individual players. A blocked player sees "license blocked" with a message in the main menu and cannot start a round. Minecraft itself keeps working normally.
- If the server cannot be reached, the mod keeps working with the last answer it got (saved in
config/ignore_it/license.json). Players who were never checked are allowed; players who were blocked stay blocked. - Servers also check the license of every joining player.
- Anonymous game statistics (since 0.40.0), sent by the server or the singleplayer host without any player ID or name: when a round starts (difficulty, number of days, number of players, which features are switched off) and how it ends (won, lost or aborted, day reached, number taken). If the mod itself runs into an error, it sends the error type, the place in the mod's code (class and line), the mod and Minecraft version – no paths, no world or server names, at most 10 reports per session.
- The first time you enter a world, the mod says this in chat once.
- The server address is fixed in the mod and cannot be changed in the config.
Voice imitation (only with Simple Voice Chat installed and the toggle on): the mod listens to the microphones of the participants and keeps at most 30 seconds of speech per player, only in memory. Nothing is written to disk, and everything is gone when the round ends. Playback is distorted and only the victim hears it. The mod announces this in chat when such a round starts. Spoken-word detection only compares recognised text against the keyword list; the text is not stored, and the log contains only the keyword that matched.
Status
Early alpha. Most features were built in a short time and many have not been play-tested in a real multiplayer round yet. Expect bugs, odd timings and unbalanced numbers. Please report what you find in the comments, with the mod version from /ignoreit version and what you were doing when it happened.
Most in-game text (start menu, HUD messages, titles, diary pages, command feedback) is currently in German. Sound subtitles, item names and advancements have English translations.
