Features!

  • Firebringer: a 5-block-tall basalt-and-lava beast (150 health), immune to lava, fire and magma. Stands upright when idle, hunts on all four limbs.
  • Icebringer: a 5-block-tall crystal ice dragon (150 health) that stalks you on two legs with its crystal-bladed tail; it never drowns or freezes.
  • One roar per lifetime: the first time a boss sees a player it roars, stunning players and nearby mobs for the whole roar. Stunned players cover their ears and shake their heads while the camera swings to a cinematic third-person view, then returns to your own camera mode.
  • Every boss attack knocks back, iron golems and netherite wearers included (a configurable minimum share gets through knockback resistance).
  • Firebringer attacks (random, the claw is the most common):
    1. Claw combo: right slash, left slash, two-handed ground smash.
    2. Leap and tail slam: spins through the air and lands tail-first on you: area damage, knockback, cracked ground.
    3. Fire breath: a 10-block flame cone that sets you on fire.
    4. Lava dive: only near a lava pool of at least 2x2. It vanishes in the lava for 3 seconds, then bursts out and glides at you.
  • Icebringer attacks (random, Crystal Rake is the most common):
    1. Crystal Rake: two claw swipes and a 360° crystal tail spin that hits everything around it.
    2. Hydro Beam: a 16-block pressurized water jet that keeps pushing you back, soaks you (Slowness) and puts out fire.
    3. Crystal Eruption: it slams the ground and a line of crystal spikes erupts toward you, launching you into the air (a ring of spikes if you are close).
    4. Maelstrom: it spins up a whirlpool that drags everything toward it, then ends with a tidal blast.
  • Huge hidden lairs: every new world hides Firebringer Lairs (lava lake, basalt pillars, fire altar) and Icebringer Lairs (crystal grotto with lake, waterfalls and blue-ice pillars), 57x30x57 caverns buried at y -40 to -20, about 640 blocks apart per type. Each has a boss on its altar, loot chests and a hidden chest. /locate and the compass point at the altar.
  • Bringer Compass: its red needle points to the nearest Firebringer Lair and its blue needle to the nearest Icebringer Lair. Right-click to rescan and see both distances.
  • Elemental whelps: the Cinder Whelp (deserts, badlands, savannas and their caves) bites with fire; the Tide Whelp (beaches, rivers, lush caves) swims and bites with water. Wild whelps are neutral, fight back in groups and drop Ember Shards / Tide Shards.
  • Tame your own whelp like a wolf: feed a Cinder Whelp Firebringer Scales or a Tide Whelp Icebringer Scales (1 in 3 chance per scale). Tamed whelps follow you, teleport when left behind, fight what you fight, protect you, sit and stay on right-click, heal with more scales and grow stronger (30 health).
  • Elemental critters (common in their own biomes, never outside them; surface only in the Overworld; neutral, fight back in groups):
    1. Frostling (snowy plains, snowy taiga, ice spikes, snowy slopes, groves, frozen peaks, frozen rivers, snowy beaches): crystal-crowned ice golem; punches slow and freeze. Drops Frost Shard, Frost Fur.
    2. Snow Drake Hatchling (frozen and jagged peaks, snowy slopes, groves, ice spikes): winged ice drake; bite slows. Drops Glacier Scale.
    3. Ember Sprite (desert, badlands, nether wastes, basalt deltas, crimson forest): floating charcoal spirit with ember eyes and orbiting embers; keeps its distance and shoots small fireballs. Drops Flame Fragment, Ember Core.
    4. Magma Beetle (badlands, basalt deltas, nether wastes): armor 10, knockback-resistant; bite ignites. Drops Magma Carapace.
  • Snow Drake flight: walks by default and takes off when walking won't do: target or owner above it or out of walking reach, owner far ahead or gliding on an elytra, or water underfoot. Lands only on solid ground, glides down with no fall damage, lands first when told to stay.
  • More pets: tame a Snow Drake Hatchling with Frost Shards (sits on stay) or an Ember Sprite with Magma Carapace (hovers in place on stay; a tamed sprite's fireballs skip you and never set blocks on fire). Same wolf rules: follow, guard, heal with the taming item, 2x+2 health and +1 damage when tamed.
  • Gear: Firebringer and Icebringer armor and blades (boss drops); Ember and Tide armor (whelp shards); the Steambringer Bow (both shards) fires flaming arrows that burst into slowing steam; Frost Sword (slow + freeze) and Ember Sword (ignite); Ice Shield (blocked melee attackers get Slowness II + frost) and Magma Shield (blocked melee attackers catch fire). All helmets keep your face visible.
  • Full-set bonuses: Firebringer = fire immunity; Icebringer = Conduit Power and Dolphin's Grace; Ember = Fire Resistance when you catch fire; Tide = Water Breathing and faster swimming.
  • Slow, dramatic deaths: the bosses stagger and fall, then crumble into embers or shatter into crystal shards.
  • Field Guide: every player gets a 29-page guide book the first time they join a world (bosses, attacks, lairs, critters, taming, gear, set bonuses, crafting, config). Craft another from a book and an Ember, Tide or Frost Shard or a Flame Fragment. Pages follow the game language (English, Indonesian).
  • Config: NeoForge config/firebringer-common.toml + firebringer-client.toml; Fabric config/firebringer.json. Boss cave-spawn chance and spacing, knockback floor, roar stun, whelp and critter spawn chances, caps and tame chances, compass radius, Field Guide on first join, cinematic roar camera, camera shake. Lair placement (worldgen/structure_set) and spawn biomes (tags/worldgen/biome/has_*) are datapack-overridable.
  • Fully animated GeckoLib models, custom roar sounds, glowing details. NeoForge build: compatible with Punchy! first-person animations (optional).

Dedicated server

  1. Run the same installer with Install server into an empty folder (or pick the loader in your host's panel).
  2. Put the mod jar and the same dependencies into the server's mods folder.
  3. Start once, set eula=true in eula.txt, start again.
  4. Every player needs the same mod and dependencies. Punchy! (NeoForge, optional) is client-only.
