Know your hives before you harvest
HiveLedger gives beekeepers a quick, read-only check of vanilla beehives and bee nests. Sneak and right-click with an empty main hand to receive a compact chat report.
- Honey: exact level from 0 to 5 and harvest readiness.
- Residents: bees currently inside, out of the vanilla capacity of three.
- Smoke: whether Minecraft’s campfire-smoke check reaches the hive.
- Exit: whether a block with a collision shape obstructs the entrance.
Inspection does not harvest honey, release bees or consume anything. Stop sneaking and hold a bottle or shears to harvest normally.
Installation
Requires Minecraft Java 1.21.11, Fabric Loader 0.19.0 or newer, Fabric API and Java 21. Put the release JAR in the mods folder of your Fabric installation. Singleplayer gameplay has been tested. Dedicated-server and client-without-mod tests are pending; do not treat them as verified compatibility.
Understanding the report
The count covers bees stored in this hive, not bees flying around your farm. Smoke detection follows the vanilla calming check and does not protect you from campfire damage. Exit obstruction follows the vanilla collision check. No automatic harvesting, tracking, custom recipes or structures are added. English and German translations are included; gameplay was tested in English.
