Description
Historic Ships adds 3 historic warships: the Viking Drakkar, the Roman Quinquereme, and the French Napoléon. They all have different features (you can fight with these, carry passengers and animals...) and everything is craftable on the Shipwright Workbench where you can assemble them from materials. See the Showcase section to know more about these! The gallery also have a LOT of images, so be sure to check it out:)
Anyway, let's experience the Echoes of the fleet!

The slogan is pretty cool, isn't it?:D

| Ship | Era | Engine | Slots | Passengers | Animals |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Drakkar | Viking age | Oars + 1 Sail | 27 | 4 | 2 |
| Quinquereme | Hellenistic Period | Larger oars + 2 Sails | 36 | 6 | 4 |
| Napoléon | Mid-19th Century | Steam + 3 Large sails | 54 | 6 | 4 |
- The Drakkar is meant for very fast traveling, and is very maneuverable.
- The Quinquereme is meant for fighting: the ram damage other ships, can throw stone bullets while being fast and having good storage.
- The Napoléon is meant for heavy fighting: it throws very explosive bullets from the front and explosive bullets from the sides. It is also meant for heavy items storage.

In order to craft these ships, you will have to first craft the Shipwright Workbench.

Here's how it looks inside:
The top slots are for the materials used to craft the ships.
For example to craft the Drakkar, we need these items:

Then you'll have to click Assemble and the boat will be crafted!
Tip: You can also hover the ships to have this tooltip, so you know what materials you need:

There is a different control panel at the top right of the screen for each ships:

- Cargo is the ship's storae, you can access it with your inventory key or by shift+right click when you're outside the ship.
- For the Napoléon Ship, there's Guns: the default keybinds are V for the front one, N/B for the left/right one.
- For the Quinquereme, Tower is the stone bullet from its tower.
- Crew/Animals are the passengers (players & animals).
- Hull is the health of the ship (you can repair it by right-clicking with 30 planks).
Freelook allow you to look around the ship:

You can configure which ships you want to be on your server at config/historicships-common.toml

More config coming soon! (for the crafting cost, ships health..)

Translations are available for English and French yet. Feel free to suggest better one, or directly add translations on github with a pull request!.
Feel free to add this in any modpack published on curseforge! This is highly appreciated.
The code is open source : https://github.com/AwesomeHippo/HistoricShips under MIT license
As it was done for the ModJam 2026, I had a limited time to do it and couldn't implement everything, so stay tuned for the updates! The mod should be compatible with most shaders.
