Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Hauled to Hearth, v1.0.2
New: Hardcore Mode
- Hardcore worlds now get a limited number of free rescues instead of unlimited ones. Configurable from 1 to 3, defaulting to 1.
- Your last available rescue gets its own send off: a short, ominous title ("Returned to Hearth"), a matching subtitle ("...do not test me again."), and a longer, handwritten feeling note left behind in chat ("This time you are saved. Next time, my dear, you will return to me.") all fully configurable.
- Once your rescues are spent, the next death is real. You still get a blackout first, shorter and sharper than the rescue version, with no gentle reveal after it, then the death screen takes over, same as vanilla Hardcore.
- Added optional integration with the Adaptive Difficulty mod, if installed: a player individually configured to non Hardcore on Adaptive Difficulty is excluded from Hardcore Mode even on a Hardcore world, and a player Adaptive Difficulty flags Hardcore gets Hardcore Mode even on a non Hardcore world. Not installed? Nothing changes, this is a soft dependency, not a requirement.
New: Rescue Health Options
- Added a config option for how much health you wake up with on a rescue: a flat 3 hearts (the original behavior, still the default), half your max health, or a full heal.
Fixes
- Fixed a bug where a player rescued mid fall would take an extra, unexplained tick of fall damage immediately after landing at home. Their fall distance wasn't being cleared on teleport.
- Fixed the rescue title font defaulting to the runic
minecraft:altfont instead of standard text. - Amethyst chime on the post rescue comfort message is now noticeably louder.
Notes
- No changes to the normal (non Hardcore) rescue flow. Same unlimited rescues, same cinematic, same everything, unless you're the one changing the config.
