Harder Farming is an alteration to the Minecraft farming mechanics. Animals automatically repopulate and die off, crop growth is slowed and takes into account biome attributes. It takes more wheat (seeds, etc) to make animals go into "love mode," but they drop more meat and leather so it is no longer painfully scarce. Killing a sheep gives more wool than sheering.
This is a rebuild of Harder Wildlife for .110.2, minus the seasons, added mobs, and tree die-off as those additions did not fully work as desired or were not terribly popular (monitor lizards). This also allowed the removal the dependency on COG.

This should work for modded crops and animals as well? (like "Heat and Climate" and Animania: Farm)
And what about SimpleDifficulty compat? Its a new and updated TaN
i also noticed that there's some implementation of seasons, they should be compatible with "Heat and Climate" Seasons?
is each feature configurable? I'd like to just slow down my crop growth and have the biome attribute features only.
In reply to arthurofus:
Should be, yes. Been a while since I dug into the configs for this one. But there should be toggles for animals and trees separate from crops.
In reply to Draco18_s:
Alright, thank you.
In reply to Draco18_s:
I can't seem to find out how to toggle the animals off, I want to use another mod that adds the animal features I'm looking for, but I still want to keep the crop slow rate. i also do not see any options for trees to be slowed. unless you know of another mod that has settings for slower farming and trees.
I'm having a weird bug: I was using the default options but with maxed out looting on a sword, killing animals was giving me WAY more rawhide than I could easily process (and probably more leather than I'll ever need) so I decided to see if I could hook up thermal Dynamics (or whichever of those mods it is) pipes to automate the drying process. It didn't go so well (java.lang.StackOverflowError: Exception in server tick loop) so I decided just to deactivate the rawhide option in the config. When I loaded up the world, it gave me a new error: "Attempted to add a duplicate pool to loot table: minecraft:leather". I'm not sure where in the loot table it's attempting to readd leather; maybe something with Twilight Forest?
I'll swap the config back to how it was before for now, but I'll be drowning in rawhide :P. Is there any way you can make drop rates configurable, btw? I've got Pam's Harvestcraft installed, so I'd like to keep drop rates at vanilla levels, still.
PS - I'm running Minecraft version 1.12.2 and Harder Farming version 7.0.0a

I must not have seen this comment. Sorry for the delay. Not sure why turning the feature off is causing a problem unfortunately (or why you're getting a stack overflow). And I've mostly been away from Minecraft modding in general. Sorry I can't help. :\
Very cool looking mod, cant wait to try it out.
Why should killing a sheep give more wool than shearing it? I think it should be the other way around, as it would give more incentive to keeping your flock alive.
In reply to Drakonas_Last_Dovahkiin:
Because you can always re-shear a sheep. You get more out by using shears over time, so the ability to kill for "three right now" is a short term option.
Is there any document pertaining to what crops grow better in what biomes? Id also like to know this for pams crops. I assume gardens found in the biomes grow their crops well but I cant tell.

Wonderful mod!
Not sure if it works right for me
What you need to adjust, what would the life of animals was 1 real day?
In which direction should the number be in order to reduce the modifier lifetime
In reply to Dima__xaker:
Have you looked at Serene Seasons for a possible hookup? How likely might a compat mod / optional dependency for some of the original features be?
Edit: Er. I guess the question might be compatibility, since they affect crops themselves.

In reply to Draco18s:
Can you predict how this will affect animania before hand? It would be awesome if this mod affects its animals. In fact, I hope it affects every crop and animal any mod adds. This mod is necessary. EDIT: went to the wiki and saw that it has seasons and affects animals. Can you add compatibility options for serene seasons?
