Haptic Mouse

Brings responsive haptic feedback to supported vibration-capable mice across combat, movement, interactions, and more.

Haptic Mouse

Feel Minecraft through your mouse.

Haptic Mouse adds physical feedback to supported vibration-capable mice. The goal is to support suitable gameplay events—including combat, movement, interactions, environmental effects, and warnings.

Current Features

The current alpha focuses on combat:

  • Successful attacks
  • Received hits
  • Guards and shield blocks
  • Light, medium, and heavy feedback
  • /hapticmouse test command
  • Optional Iron and Blood 0.5.0 integration

With Iron and Blood installed, haptic strength follows its camera-feedback intensity. Iron and Blood is optional.

Current Compatibility

Currently tested and supported:

  • Logitech MX Master 4
  • Logi Options+
  • Haptic Web Plugin
  • Windows

Support for other vibration-capable mice is planned when a safe API, SDK, or control bridge is available.

Supported Mods

  • Iron and Blood 0.5.0 — full dynamic combat feedback based on its camera-shake intensity
  • Vanilla Minecraft — basic support for attacks, received damage, and shield blocks

More mod integrations are planned for future releases.

Installation

  1. Install Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47.x, and Java 17.
  2. Place Haptic Mouse_alpha-0.1.0.jar in the Minecraft mods folder.
  3. Install and open Logi Options+.
  4. Install Haptic Web Plugin using the official guide.
  5. Start Minecraft and run:

/hapticmouse test

Your mouse should produce one haptic response. Overall strength can be adjusted in Logi Options+ under Haptic Feedback.

For multiplayer, install the same Haptic Mouse version on both the client and server.

Safety

Haptic requests run in the background and never block gameplay. Minecraft continues normally if the mouse, Logi Options+, or the plugin is unavailable.

Communication is limited to the haptic service running locally on your computer.

Future Plans

Future versions may support:

  • Movement and landing
  • Block and tool interactions
  • Explosions and projectiles
  • Environmental and status effects
  • More combat systems
  • Additional vibration-capable mice

Haptic Mouse is an independent community project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Logitech.
