Ground Sleep

Sleep directly on the ground. No bed required. Ground Sleep lets you rest anywhere while respecting Minecraft's normal sleeping rules.

Ground Sleep

Ground Sleep lets you sleep directly on the ground without placing a bed, making exploration, camping, and survival adventures much more convenient while staying balanced with vanilla gameplay.

Simply sneak (Shift) + right-click the top of a solid block with an empty hand to lie down and go to sleep.

Features

  • 🛌 Sleep directly on the ground.
  • 🌙 No bed required.
  • ⌛ Ground sleeping takes longer than a normal bed.
  • 🍖 Costs a small amount of hunger when you lie down.
  • 🐌 Applies Slowness I for 5 seconds after waking up.
  • 🎭 Uses a proper lying-down animation.
  • ⚖️ Designed to feel like a natural vanilla feature.

Vanilla Rules Still Apply

Ground Sleep follows Minecraft's normal sleeping restrictions.

You can only sleep if:

  • It is a valid time and dimension for sleeping.
  • There are no nearby hostile monsters.
  • Rain is not falling directly on the player.
  • There is enough room to lie down (solid ground and sufficient free space).

If any vanilla sleeping condition fails, sleeping will also fail.

How to Use

  1. Empty your main hand.
  2. Sneak (Shift).
  3. Right-click the top of a solid block.
  4. Your player lies down.
  5. After a slightly longer delay than a normal bed, you fall asleep.
