Grey Goo Redux 0.5.4-f4acbac0 - Patch Notes
Changes since the Forge release greygooredux-0.5.4-83f9dda8.jar
### Heavenly Pocket Realm
- Aetherial Goo gains its own reusable seed and sneak + right-click menu. Open a gateway to a shared, endlessly generated peaceful realm, with individual return connections for each player.
- Build permanent homes, sleep in beds and use ordinary items. The terrain behaves like a normal world and does not regenerate over your builds.
- Explore flower fields, gentle forests, tropical landscapes and supported fae, Aether and honey biomes. Supported lush, crystal, glowing, icy and Candy Cavity scenery can appear underground. Optional biome mods use vanilla alternatives when absent, and biome names are preserved.
- Hostile creatures are kept out of the Heavenly Realm. Added protection against scripted Shy Man and Apollyon encounters in both pocket realms when those mods are installed.
- A large golden star sends shafts of light across pastel skies, with sunset colours below the horizon and soft twilight at night. Gentle golden sparkles fall through the open air, fading after three to six seconds and stopping at surfaces, water and roofs.
- Solid cloud islands form around Y=150-200, adjusted for the terrain below. Large cloud islands and surrounding island chains offer room for sky bases, with construction supported through Y=575.
- Glowing, translucent rainbow bridges lead from cloud islands to heaping pots of gold containing randomized rare materials and equipment from vanilla and supported mods.
- Rainbow blocks and stairs can be mined by hand for colour-matched vanilla treasure: redstone blocks, copper blocks, gold blocks, emeralds, lapis blocks, diamonds and echo shards. Silk Touch preserves the rainbow blocks for building.
- Long golden filaments repeatedly appear near cloud-island height, including in explored areas. Natural strands fade after three to six minutes; player-placed strands remain. New cloud islands, bridges and treasure appear in newly explored terrain.
- Mining filaments yields The Elixir of Angels: five minutes of Regeneration and creative-style flight, with 50% faster movement while flying.
- Heavenly gateway destinations follow their source coordinates and dimension travel scale, approximately 1:1 from the Overworld and 8:1 from the Nether, with adjustments for safe arrival.
- Falling beneath the Heavenly Realm returns you high above a random Overworld location, with Slow Falling and protection through your descent.
### Treasure Wand
- Added a jeweled golden Treasure Wand, with a 10% chance to appear in rainbow pots of gold.
- Use it inside the Heavenly Pocket Realm to open a golden tear and travel safely onto an undiscovered rainbow cloud island, with untouched treasure at the rainbow's lower end.
- Each wand is consumed after one successful journey. Failed or cancelled searches leave it intact. It cannot be used outside the Heavenly Pocket Realm.
### Divine Intervention
- Aetherial's emergency death rescue now grants ninety seconds of Divine Intervention, shown by an angel-wing status icon. Aetherial Goo cannot be used while the effect lasts.
- A second lethal event during the effect carries you high into the Heavenly Pocket Realm with a protected descent.
- A temporary one-way return doorway appears near your landing. It seeks clear space near your Overworld bed or rest point, falling back to the surface near X=0, Z=0.
- Returning dismantles the temporary doorway, restores its footprint and allows Aetherial Goo to be used again.
### Predator and Companion Gateways
- Predator's movement, target search, taunt and automatic item and experience collection now share a strict 64-block radius centred on the player.
- Predator can attack multiple enemies simultaneously, with one full-strength beam per target within 16 blocks of the eye. Every beam requires a clear line of sight; damage is not divided between targets.
- The eye prefers hovering above its primary target, with lower or sideways positions when terrain demands it. Following improves while flying, falling and swimming through water or lava.
- Singularity storage expands from twenty to fifty pages, providing 2,700 slots. Existing loot is preserved, and sorting and transfer controls cover the expanded storage.
- Predator gains a crimson gateway confirmation menu, atmospheric messages and faint inward-spiralling portal particles. Crimson sparkles surround the eye and trail behind it; Aetherial's swarms gain subtle golden sparkles.
- Confirming either companion gateway gathers the eye or all four swarms at the chosen site. They disappear before construction begins and remain bound to the gateway until recall finishes.
- Companion gateways cannot be created or recalled from inside either pocket realm. Return travel remains available.
### Negative Space and Void Travel
- Fixed the static sky covering chamber walls and scenery. Exterior static has softer, evenly sized grain, and exterior distance fog no longer obscures it. Interior haze remains.
- Expanded eligible void destinations to include The Pit, The Setback, Depth, The Otherside, Forlorn Hollows, Mortum, Eclipse and the Corruption Heart when installed.
- Void travel now seeks clear space above natural ground and grants thirty seconds of fall-damage protection, replacing the previous obsidian arrival platform. Unsuitable destinations are skipped; the Nether remains the fallback.
### Music
- Added seven Heavenly ambient tracks: Aetherial Sanctuary, Bells Beyond the Clouds, Meadows on the Wind, The Golden Ascent, Celestial Resonance, Pastoral Drift and Pastoral Drift (Slower).
- The Heavenly Realm keeps its celestial soundtrack in caves, blocking outside music and ominous cave ambience.
- Walking on a rainbow bridge queues Glorious Resolution after the current song finishes. It plays to its natural ending even after leaving the bridge. An ambient song must finish before a later bridge visit can trigger it again.
- Negative Space's original ambience is slightly louder and is joined by Something Beneath the Silence, A Scream in the Dark and Subterranean Pressure.
- Both realms shuffle their ambient playlists without repeats until the rotation is complete, avoiding consecutive repeats across rotations. Every song is followed by forty-five to ninety seconds of silence, including the bridge song.
### Crafting and the Gooey Manual
- Added crafting-table recipes for all ten Goo seeds, using only vanilla ingredients.
- Added the Gooey Manual to the starter ender chest, with every Goo recipe, ingredient list, usage instructions, all Grey Goo Redux commands and a clickable recipe index. Existing players receive a copy when their ender chest has room.
- The Goo Selector now cycles through seven Goos, with Aetherial joining Hearth and Predator as a separate seed with its own controls.
### Modpack Use
- Updated the project license. Modpacks may use official-source downloads under the NoxDeimos Project License 1.0; see the license for distribution and reuse terms.
