Description
Makes farmland lose moisture gradually over time. When it drops to zero, crops will die and the block turns back into dirt.
This is different from vanilla, where farmland only turns into dirt if there's no crops on it - so you can hoe some land in the middle of a desert, immediately plant some wheat, and you'll never need to actually water it.
You can configure:
- Starting moisture and rate of moisture loss. This can be set to different values in different biomes (e.g. desert vs jungle).
- Whether drying out farmland will kill the crops on it.
- Whether the dying crops will drop their seeds.
- How far from water the farmland has to be to stay hydrated. (Farmland further away will gradually dry out.)
This is intended for modpacks where water is rare or water source blocks can't be moved (using the Stationary Source Blocks mod or similar), where you have some other mod that has irrigation systems to hydrate farmland (such as Canals or Create Irrigation). Water blocks will still keep farmland hydrated.
Planned future extensions:
- Watering can that just waters farmland.
Notes:
- Previously there was a separate resource pack. This is no longer needed, I included it with the base mod.
- There were some issues in V1 with farmland blocks not being created sometimes. This has been fixed in V2.
