Fun Time with the Savannah Cat! 🐆

Ever wanted a Savannah Cat in Minecraft? Well, now you can have one!

Fun Time with the Savannah Cat adds Savannah Cats to Minecraft, complete with custom models, animations, different coat colors, and plenty of little behaviors that make them feel alive.

The idea behind this mod was pretty simple: I wanted to make a cat that feels like an actual companion rather than just another animal wandering around your world.

Whether you're exploring, building, farming, or just relaxing at home, your Savannah Cat can keep you company.

🐾 Savannah Cats

You can find Savannah Cats naturally spawning in savanna biomes.

There are four coat variations:

• Brown Spotted

• Silver Spotted

• Black

• Black Smoke

Each variation uses its own texture, and all four share a custom model inspired by the real-life Savannah Cat, including those big ears!

❤️ Taming and Bonding

Savannah Cats can be tamed and will become loyal companions once you've earned their trust.

They also have their own personalities. Some might be more curious, playful, or confident, while others prefer keeping to themselves.

The more time you spend with your cat, the stronger your bond becomes. As that bond grows, your cat can become better at helping and protecting you.

🐱 Breeding and Kittens

You can breed your Savannah Cats and raise kittens!

Kittens have their own models, textures, and animations. They inherit their coat color from their parents and eventually grow into adults.

They can also interact with their family, so you can have an entire little Savannah Cat family living around your base.

💤 Everyday Cat Behavior

One of my favorite parts of making this mod was adding all the little things cats do.

Your Savannah Cats can groom themselves, lie down, sleep, use scratching posts, and interact with food and water bowls.

They can even sleep next to you or on your bed when you go to sleep.

It's a small feature, but it makes having them around feel a lot more natural.

⚔️ Combat and Protection

Savannah Cats aren't completely helpless, either!

They can hunt, stalk prey, pounce on enemies, dodge attacks, and defend their owners when needed.

They also have a Downed system, meaning you may have a chance to rescue your cat after it takes what would otherwise be fatal damage.

🌾 Whistle and Harvesting

The mod includes a Savannah Cat Whistle that lets you give your cats commands, such as following, staying, hunting, and harvesting.

In Harvest Mode, cats can help collect dropped items, clear short grass and other permitted vegetation, and harvest certain crops.

So they're not just pets. They can actually be useful while you're playing survival!

🛠️ JEI Compatibility

The mod is compatible with Just Enough Items (JEI), so you can look up crafting recipes for the items and blocks added by the mod.

JEI is optional, but recommended if you prefer having recipes available in-game.

I had a lot of fun working on this mod, especially creating the models and watching the cats come to life with their animations and behaviors.
