Full Course
No more hunger. The food bar is gone, sprinting always works, and health comes back on its own a few seconds after the last hit. Food becomes a choice that makes you stronger: the more work a dish took, the stronger and longer its benefits. Every food from every mod gets a tier from its recipe chain, with no list of supported mods.
Requirements
- Minecraft 26.3, Java 25.
- NeoForge 26.3.0.89 or later. Nothing else is needed.
- Fabric: Fabric Loader 0.19.5 or later and Fabric API 0.161.0+26.3 or later. Nothing else is needed.
- Install it on the client, and on the server too when you play on one.
- It takes the place of the vanilla food bar, so it doesn't belong in a pack with another mod that reworks hunger.
How it plays
- No hunger. Recovery replaces natural regeneration: 8 seconds after you last took damage, you heal 1 HP every 4 seconds. Food heals as many HP as its hunger value, one a second.
- Eat for benefits. From one star up, a food fills a meal slot with benefits: more health, damage, armor, speed, mining speed and more. You start with two slots and can earn three more.
- Cook for more. A dish's tier comes from its recipe chain: steps, stations and ingredients. The tooltip shows the stars, the benefits and, holding Shift, the chain and the score.
- Taste everything. Different dishes open a third, fourth and fifth meal slot. The Tasting Journal shows what you've had and what the next slot asks for.
- Share a feast. Feasts are placed on the table and served to everyone: the top tier, for the whole group.
Tiers
| Tier | Score | A meal gives |
|---|---|---|
| ☆ Raw | 0 | heals only |
| ★ Simple | 1–2 | 1 benefit at level I, 2 min |
| ★★ Prepared | 3–4 | 2 benefits at level I, 5 min |
| ★★★ Hearty | 5–7 | 2 benefits at level II, 10 min |
| ★★★★ Gourmet | 8–11 | 3 benefits at level III, 20 min |
| ★★★★★ Feast | 12+ | 3 benefits at level IV, 30 min |
A steak is Simple; rabbit stew and cake, vanilla's best, are Hearty; a Shepherd's Pie from the Brick Oven is Gourmet. Benefits of the same family don't add up: the strongest level wins, so the best loadout is a varied one.
Benefit families
A dish's benefits come from what went into it.
| Family | Per level | From |
|---|---|---|
| Brawn | +1 attack damage | meat |
| Vigor | +1 ❤ max health | vegetables, onion, kelp, pumpkin |
| Fortitude | +1 armor | dairy and eggs |
| Swift | +5% speed | fruit and berries |
| Diligence | +10% mining speed | grain, flour, bread |
| Fortune | +1 luck (better fishing) | sweets: sugar, honey, cocoa |
| Tide | +1 respiration, 15% less water drag | fish |
| Night Eye | night vision | mushrooms, glow berries |
| Ember | −20% burning time | Nether ingredients |
| Lightfoot | +2 blocks of safe fall, +5% jump | chorus |
| Mending | +50% Recovery | broth, and every soup |
The kitchen
- Cutting Board: put food on it and cut it with a knife (Flint Knife or Iron Knife, or another mod's).
- Cooking Pot: six ingredients over a heat source, such as a lit campfire. Stews, soups, jams.
- Brick Oven: bakes with fuel, like a furnace. Pies, bakes, Nether Flatbread and the feasts.
- Fermenting Crock: seal it and wait half a day (sleeping counts). Butter, cheese, sweet cream, pickles.
- Hoppers feed the pot and the oven. Two new crops: Onions grow wild in plains, meadows, forests, taiga and savannas, and turn up in village house chests; Ember Peppers in crimson forests, planted on soul soil.
36 dishes, from a Fried Egg to the Roast Banquet, and 16 ingredients along the way.
Feasts and cake
The Roast Banquet (8 servings), Harvest Pie (6) and Glow Berry Tart (4) are placed and served by using them. Each serving is a five-star meal, and each player takes one serving of a feast. Cake slices are three-star meals.
Every food counts
Full Course rates every food in the game from its recipes, other mods' foods too, so it needs no list of supported mods. Some mods get more:
- Farmer's Delight Refabricated (Fabric): its dishes get tiers from its cooking pot and cutting board recipes,
its knives work on the Cutting Board, and Full Course's ingredients carry the shared
c:tags. - JEI: a recipe category for each kitchen station.
- AppleSkin: its hunger overlays are hidden, since there is no food bar to show them on.
- Cooking for Blockheads: the Cooking Table lists Full Course's crafted dishes and sorts them by tier, and its oven heats a Cooking Pot set on top.
For servers and modpacks
The config lives on the server and is sent to each player: keep vanilla hunger, the Recovery delay and rate, meal slots, how long meals last, the tier thresholds and the slot milestones. Every rating is data: a data pack can set a food's tier and benefits, and tags decide ingredients, heat sources, remedies and where the wild crops grow. The website's modpack page has every key and hook.
Each player can move the meal row to any corner or edge of the screen, and the inventory's meal list to either side or off, in their own client settings, so it keeps clear of other HUD mods.
Commands: /fullcourse tier [item], /fullcourse meals [player], /fullcourse unlock <players> <slots>.
Free to use in any modpack.
