【Mod Update Announcement】"Extreme Shift" — Comprehensive Movement System Optimization
Dear players,
To further improve the movement experience and combat flow within the mod, I have made a series of adjustments to the current parkour and dash mechanics.
In previous versions, the mid-air continuous dash mechanic provided players with a high degree of mobility. However, as players became more familiar with the movement system, this mechanic gradually reduced the importance of route planning, timing, and terrain awareness. In some situations, repeated mid-air dashes allowed players to bypass movement challenges too easily, making the parkour experience less diverse.
Therefore, while preserving the high mobility experience provided by Focus Value, I aim to make every dash more meaningful and strategic. Players will need to rely on precise execution, route planning, and situational awareness to achieve more rewarding movement.
This mod update introduces the following adjustments to the dash system:
【System Adjustments】Dash Mechanic Optimization
Mid-Air Mobility Adjustments
Removed the Mid-Air Continuous Dash Mechanic
- Players can now perform a maximum of one dash while airborne.
- Movement flow will place greater emphasis on jump timing, landing position, and terrain awareness.
- Limiting consecutive air movement increases the skill ceiling and depth of parkour gameplay.
Dash Performance Improvements
Increased Single Dash Travel Distance
- Mid-air dash distance increased from 6 blocks to 8 blocks.
- A single dash now provides stronger traversal capability, making movement transitions smoother and more reliable.
Enhanced Ground Dash Movement
- Forward dashes performed while grounded will receive a significant increase in travel distance.
- Players are encouraged to make more meaningful choices between ground acceleration and aerial movement based on terrain and combat situations.
【Combat Adjustments】New Dash Protection Effect
To make dashing a more reliable tool for advancing and breaking through enemy defenses, a new protection effect has been added:
Damage Avoidance During Dash
While dashing, players will gain protection against attacks along their movement path:
- Immune to projectile attacks encountered during the dash.
- Immune to long-range attacks intercepted during the dash.
This effect only applies to attacks detected within the dash path and does not affect damage received from other directions.
【Developer Notes】
I want dashing to become more than just a simple movement ability. It should serve as an important tool for controlling momentum, creating opportunities, and expressing player skill.
Through these changes, I hope players will consider more carefully:
- When to conserve their mobility resources;
- When to commit to an aggressive movement option;
- How to use a single well-timed dash to achieve advanced movement routes.
Rather than relying on unrestricted high-speed movement, I want to encourage players to create impressive moments through precision, decision-making, and mastery of the system.
Thank you to everyone who has supported, tested, and provided feedback for this mod. I will continue monitoring movement mechanics, combat pacing, and overall player experience, making further improvements based on community feedback.
I look forward to seeing even more incredible movement techniques in the new version.
